I’m seeking to return to the council to give Ojai residents the transparent, responsible government they deserve. It is enormously important that Ojai keep its unique village atmosphere while remaining affordable to families of all income levels.

I have had the privilege of living in Ojai since 1957, of raising two children here, and of serving our town both as a City Council member and as Mayor. During my four years as an elected official, I championed many issues that need to be brought back to the forefront: traffic calming, sustainability, and a pedestrian/bicycle friendly community. I continue to foster policies that are friendly to both business and the environment, because what’s good for the environment is also good for business.

I smile when I remember that I used to be called “that bicycle lady” and “Mayor Moonbeam” by those who did not understand the issues I was raising. Now conservation is the watchword of every government and business around the world. It’s time for the City Council to follow through in creating a truly sustainable Ojai.
