Each year on or around International Peace Day (September 21), the Ojai Peace Coalition awards its exclusive Noble Peace Prize to one person or entity in the Ojai Valley who works for and exhibits cultural Peace. Issues of focus for the nominees may include – but are not limited to – ending the war, promoting sustainable energies and practices, environmental protection/restoration, nonviolent conflict resolution, compassionate solutions to social problems, and restoration/enhancement of democracy. The award committee will be comprised of Ojai Peace Coalition volunteers. The OPC Director and Award Committee members are exempt from award. Deadline for 2008 nominations is August 15, 2008, 11:59pm. Prize awarded during the annual Living Peace in Ojai weekend.
