DK Crawford is a restaurant critic, freelance writer and photographer originally from the bayou country of Southwestern Louisiana where she maintained a restaurant column and freelanced for multiple publications.
She is deeply passionate about all things food related, her dawg Noop, southern fiction and her wildly wonderful family. She believes she could solve many of the world’s problems if only she could feed everyone a bowl of her homemade chicken soup. Each month she mails a batch of said soup to her father in Louisiana.
DK is a longtime member of Slow Food and Southern Foodways Alliance. She recently moved to Ventura, CA after living in Ojai for the past 6 years due to air quality issues. She still works in both locations and spends much time with her sister in Ojai who lives in a cottage downtown.
Her most recent work appears in the VC Reporter, Ventana Monthly, Edible Ojai (PDF), and online at her blog The Food Savant where both miracles and debacles occur.
