Corporations are NOT People and Money is NOT Speech

by SPK January 20, 2012

Why we need a Constitutional Amendment against Corporate Personhood

                   tea party

This will take a second. The jurisprudence behind corporate personhood did not come into existence overnight with the Roberts Gang in the Supreme Court and the Citizens United decision. The idea that a corporation is a person and therefore due the rights of a human being under the Bill of Rights finds its roots in post Civil War America. But to explain the whole issue we have to start back still further in our nations history. The Revolutionary War which birthed the United States was as much a war against Royally chartered corporations like the East India Company as it was against British rule.

The Wheel Doesn’t Need to be Reinvented

by Kristofer Young January 1, 2012

The wheel doesn’t need to be reinvented, and I don’t have to work to restate what Dean Ornish, MD has stated so clearly on his website:

“People often think that advances in medicine have to be a new drug, a new laser, or a surgical intervention to be powerful—something really high-tech and…

Count your blessings…

by Fred Rothenberg December 20, 2011

It started out like most Mondays. Kiss Sweetie good-bye, hop into the truck, get some gas and pull into the Help of Ojai lot. As usual, it was cold and damp. Not just outside, but inside Little House where the aging heating system can’t keep up with the drafts and…

Kids’ Food-Induced Behavior Wreaking Havoc on Your Holidays?

by Kristofer Young December 18, 2011

An enormous number of American families suffer with children with food-induced challenging behavior. For many, the stress of these behaviors damages the entire family.

Many families don’t even realize that everyday foods can turn an otherwise wonderful child into a Mr. Hyde. Still others see their children…

Ojai Stories: Birth of Monica at Home of Beatrice Wood

by Suza Francina December 16, 2011

December 16, 1981

As I looked at this baby I was aware that her gentle, peaceful birth did not disturb her innate tranquility. She was still in the Garden of Eden, our original, unconditioned state. I could sense that she came from Source and was still deeply connected to Source. I…

Some of My Best Friends Are Medical Doctors

by Kristofer Young December 2, 2011

Not every chiropractor would admit that some of his best friends are MDs. For decades the two professions were pitted against one another. There is still plenty of work to be done to create harmonious cooperation between the two.

I would like you to have the opportunity to meet a few…

Before you donate for a “cure,” find out how funds are used.

by Suza Francina November 27, 2011

Lately, I’ve gotten more requests to host “yogathons”and other yoga fundraisers to find the cure for cancer and other diseases of civilization. LA Yoga and other yoga magazines are filled with altruistic articles promoting fundraising events in Southern California and nationwide.

Before I donate or commit to raising funds,…

Kid’s Behavior a Pain?

by Kristofer Young November 22, 2011

“For the first time in a decade, the American Academy of Pediatrics [AAP] has issued an updated set of guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) …”. While I appreciate updating, I can’t say that I am impressed with this one.

Key recommendations include: [I have only…
