Profile

I have been a resident of Ojai since 2006, and am actively involved in agriculture / food politics in the valley. Since August 2009 I have co-managed Mano Farm, a 1.3 acre USDA-certified organic farm in Meiners Oaks, California that offers Community Supported Agriculture shares to community members. In Summer 2011 we founded All Good Things Organic Seeds, an organic seed company that sells the seeds we grow on the land. I maintain a personal blog at jadecricket.tumblr.com and am a contributing writer for Edible Ojai & Ventura County.

by quin June 14, 2010

I opened the very first notebook entry about our farm with a line from the great poet Jack Gilbert: “anything worth doing is worth doing badly” (“Failing and Flying”). Lately I’ve been thinking about this line again and how it relates to organic farming. The caveat I would add to Mr. Gilbert’s…
