Gina Gables is the owner of Ma and Paw Kennel - Canine Training Services, established in 1991. Gina has successfully trained hundreds of dogs (and their people) during this 20 year period in disciplines ranging from basic obedience and extensive behavior modification to training personal protection dogs and herding dogs. She competes in stock dog herding trials. One of the Australian Shepherds she owned/trained was ranked 8th in the country in her division in sheep herding At the beginning of her career she was the resident dog trainer at Balcolm Canyon Pet Lodge for over 10 years. Gina focuses on the unique relationship between guardian and dog, and trains guardians to successfully recognize the specific needs of their animals. In addition to Gina’s 20 years of hands-on experience training dogs, she has acquired formal education and training in several areas. In 1989, Gina graduated with high marks from K-9 Security Training in San Luis Obispo, California, where she completed a year-long comprehensive hands-on training course. The course covered basic and advanced obedience, behavior modification, temperament testing, utility training, personal protection and guard dog training, breed categories, K-9 first aid and kennel management. She assisted in training police dogs for local law enforcement as well as security dogs for Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant. Veterinarians, kennels, pet shops and many satisfied clients highly recommend Gina Gables. They come back to her for repeat business and consistently refer new business.
