Only food remaining is oatmeal, mustard and beer.

Neither Ojai nor Oak View are specifically mentioned, but there are now Thunderstorm and Flood warnings in the county.

It’s hard to tell on a day like today, but Yeah! The sun’s on our side now!

p.s. I’ve measured 23.20″ of rain this season, not counting the rain that started last night. I think that’s pretty good for a “La Nińa” year.

On a night like this I remember the Ojai flood of January, 1969. I was working at Live Oak School, on Orange Road, living wih my nine-month old son in a tiny trailer in the orange grove by the school… One of other teachers, Scott Eckersley, had gone hiking in the Sespe… We got the tragic news that six young hikers, their adult leader and three men who tried to rescue them from the rain-flooded area had drowned…and then, as I recall, we got the news that Scott was the sole survivor… he was washed ashore after a bulldozer stalled as they had attempted to cross the swift stream…
