from the Ojai Music Festival and the BRAVO! Education Program…

For over a decade, the Holiday Home Look In tour has been a cherished tradition of the Ojai Festival Women’s Committee, raising funds for the Ojai Music Festival and its award-winning BRAVO! music education program that serves Ojai public school children with free workshops and programs throughout the year. The holiday event, on Saturday and Sunday, November 20 and 21, offers attendees an opportunity to tour four Ojai homes that have been distinctively decked in themes including Thanksgiving harvest, New Year’s celebration, and festive Christmas décor.

This year’s home tour showcases the eclectic mix of local Ojai treasures – Gwynne Cottage: A restored Craftsman-style cottage with loving family heirlooms and antiques; Red Tail Ranch: an eight-acre picturesque property that includes a charming hacienda and two working CSA farms; Rock Fall: Inspired by a minimalist barn structure, this modern custom home boasts the most up-to-date green technology; and Signal Vista: with an amazing view of the Topa Topa Mountains, this contemporary masterpiece includes lush exotic gardens and a whimsical ‘fairy tale’ cottage filled with collectibles.

In addition to touring the homes, guests will have an opportunity to shop for holiday gifts and treasures at an outdoor Holiday Marketplace, featuring over 50 artisans and vendors. The Marketplace will open on Friday, November 19 from noon to 6 pm and stay open throughout the weekend from 10 am to 5 pm. There is no admission for the Marketplace. To enhance the festive occasion, holiday entertainment by local musicians including students from the Festival’s BRAVO! education program will be showcased throughout the day at the homes.

While shopping at the Holiday Marketplace, guests can also enter to win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — a luxury package that includes an overnight stay on the 100-foot Tall Ship Talofa, a tour around the harbor, and dinner aboard ship prepared by award-winning chef Tim Kilcoyne of the Sidecar Restaurant of Ventura. Raffle tickets for the “High Sea Adventure and Romance” package for two to six persons can be purchased in advance or during the tour weekend. To learn more about the Tall Ship visit www.TalofaTallShip.com or about the Sidecar restaurant visit www.TheSidecarRestaurant.com.

The Holiday Home Look In, November 20 and 21 from 10am to 4:00 pm, supports the Ojai Music Festival and its BRAVO! education program. Advance tickets are $30 per person plus group discounts are available for eight or more people. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Ojai Music Festival at (805) 646-2094, online at www.ojaifestival.org/support/hhli/index.htm or at Attitude Adjustment and Rains. Day of event tickets are $35 per person. A map of the homes will be provided with your ticket purchase.

The Holiday Marketplace will be located at 987 W. Ojai Avenue near the Ojai Rotary Park entering the town of Ojai. There is no admission to enter the Marketplace. The “High Sea Adventure and Romance” raffle tickets are $20 each or 3 for $50 and are available online or at the event.

Organizers require no cameras allowed on the tour or children under 12 years of age. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended (no high-heeled shoes allowed). For more information on the Holiday Home Look In, visit the Festival web site at www.OjaiFestival.org

Signal Vista may have an amazing view of the Topa Topa Mountains but unfortunately it’s enormous edifice frontage blocks the view for everyone walking by…
