GYPSUM TRUCKS ARE HEADING NORTH OUT OF OJAI TOWARDS THE CUYAMA VALLEY AS LATE AS 7:50 PM FOR ROUND TRIPS THAT WILL TAKE OVER FOUR HOURS!
THAT TRANSLATES INTO 50 FOOT LONG TRUCKS DRIVING ON A NARROW TWO LANE MOUNTAIN ROUND THAT HAS A 30 FOOT ADVISORY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.
THESE TRUCKS CAN NOT STAY INSIDE THEIR OWN LANES.
THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE ELSE TRAVELING ON MARICOPA HIGHWAY.
Now that CHP monitoring has come and gone, the gypsum trucks are back in force.
We are again seeing a constant stream of gypsum trucks that are dangerously over the the “30 foot” advisory length on Route 33, Maricopa Highway. The danger of this situation is now even worse as the truckers know that they can easily evade compliance.
We are again asking all of you to contact our elected representatives and demand that they take some strong, positive and permanent action before there is another accident or fatality caused by this inappropriate use of a scenic highway.

It’s time to start our own safety inspection. Block the trucks and measure them and check the woke truck for after infractions. Take a really long time doing it. If the sheriffs freak out, get the Ojai City Council to pass an ordinance making it legal and force the truckers to sue. If the city council won’t do it, vote for three who will in the November election.
This is a disaster waiting to happen – the question is who will be killed. Sickening that it’s happening in our community. Thank you for fighting on behalf of all of us, Stop The Trucks!
