Inspiration for 2010: "I Am Potential"
The caption that came with the video below said, "Love is the answer to overcome anything." After watching it, I would add, "Having good parents helps alot!"
This video is a peek into the life of Patrick Henry Hughes, who was born with an extremely rare genetic disorder: arms that could not straighten, legs that would never be able to walk, and most devastating of all, permanent blindness. He had been born with no eyes -- the eyes he has are artificial. It shows him as a baby, and later as a toddler, playing the piano. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xwCG0Ey2Mg

The excerpt from Chapter One is quite good!

PS I tried to make a "live" link but once again I failed.
Tyler, could you please write, "Live Links for Dummies?"

PS
I tried to follow the steps in the above "link to example."
If that is your best shot, I'll keep trying!

All I can say is WOW! He is a real inspiration. I hope his story is told beyond YouTube. As a life long concert pianist, I am blown away by his drive. I started at 3-he started at 1! There have been many blind musicians. Adversity in childhood such as abuse or disabilities can propel a person into absolute pure beauty and joy on an instrument and make what they have to endure in childhood bearable.

I've watched this video three times now (just had to show it to some friends) and what strikes me is the incredible bond between father and son. I wonder what would have happened if his parents had not noticed his gifts-- it shows the importance of valueing the uniqueness of each individual so they can truly express their potential...
