So, did anyone notice anything about the sky last night, Saturday, the 5th?
I got home from Ventura about nine or a bit after. As I was gathering the detritus from the car to take inside, I thought I noticed a pulsing in the sky. Hmmm, I thought maybe my blood pressure was up and my eyes were throbbing. Nope, I stopped and went to a part of the yard blocking out neighbors’ lights and looked at the sky. The sky was clouded over and a week of rain is predicted. A glow of light was over and beyond Sulpher Mountain, looking south (I’m in the upper valley). Not unusual, it’s the reflected light of Ventura and environs. However, after my eyes adjusted there was a definite pulsing. Not a regular pattern of on / off. There could have been a pattern or not. If there was it was a bit complex.
I called to my partner to come outside to take a look and confirm that I wasn’t crazy. He saw it too and we watched for a short time, making useless speculation and bad jokes before heading inside for some dinner.
