Ojai Wildlife League Meeting, Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009
From Sue Williamson: Greetings all Bear Fans!
On Thursday, November 12, 7pm, we will be having our first organizational meeting to officially form the Ojai Wildlife League. The meeting will be held at Sacred Space Studio, 410 Bryant Circle, Suite A, in Ojai.
This meeting is for people who have the committment, interest, time and resources to do some level of work for this new organization.
This is your opportunity to have a say in how the wildlife of California are going to be treated!
Are they going to be destroyed or protected by our Dept. of Fish and Game? Who is going to get priority, the people who kill animals for game, or those of us who want to protect and preserve our wildlife and their natural habitat?
We need to form a non profit and get a real campaign for change going while we still have some wildlife left! Did you know that the Dept. of Fish & Game was actually proposing that there be UNLIMITED killing of the bears in CA just this year? They dropped that idea (for this year), due to over 40 groups petitioning them, but that is some indication of what we are up against.
Also, there are some current ongoing bear encounters in the east end that need our attention. And more....
Hope you will be able to attend the meeting. If you can't and have skills, time, etc. to offer, please feel free to email Sue Williamson suewill@roadrunner.com
