OJAI: YOU’RE INVITED TO A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!

Today
Chapparal Auditorium
October 28, 2009 7:00pm-8:30pm

The Ojai Valley Green Coalition is now three years young, and the group would like you to help them celebrate on Wednesday, October 28, from 7 to 8:30 P.M. at Chaparral Auditorium, 414 E. Ojai Avenue in Ojai. Flyer Here
In addition to toasting the start of their fourth year with sparkling cider, they’ll be enjoying delicious organic cupcakes.

Bring your questions regarding our local environment, and your visions for Ojai’s sustainable future. You’ll meet the Coalition’s Board of Directors and get to hear a few words from each of the Committee Chairs. They’ll share with you where Ojai and the Coalition have been and invite you to make plans with them for where valley residents want to go next in the progress toward a green and sustainable Ojai. This will be the unveiling of the Coalition’s draft strategic plan and vision statement.

There is a new word to describe the notion of thinking globally and acting locally. That new word is “glocalization.” Attendees at the birthday celebration will see PowerPoint slides depicting various Coalition events, including the Waterway Clean-up, the Green Home Tour, and the Mad City Chickens documentary. An open-mic session will provide everyone with an opportunity to share their thoughts, and attendees will also be able to share their comments and feedback by use of a suggestion box.

Said Oak View resident Deborah Pendrey, who is Executive Director of the Coalition, “We’ve come a long way in three short years, but we still have a long way to go. Come be a part of the solution. Join us as we celebrate, take stock, and move forward toward greater sustainability here in the Ojai Valley!”
