A photo of some trash I collected and hauled out of the creek that runs under the bridge just north of the Highway 33 ranger station at the north end of Wheeler Gorge Campground. The conundrum is that kids who are partying out in nature don’t haul out their empties, because they’d be in far more trouble with it than not.

Who, I wonder, is throwing all that trash over the skate park into the flood channel the county has to clean up on regular basis? Usual stuff (cans, plastic bottles, etc.) plus clothes, plastic lawn chairs? Why was one of the new plastic trash barrels in the skate park smashed with litter lying all around? Liv Ullman’s character in the meditative film Mind Walk tells why this attitude, of “I could care less” of many of today’s young people, exists.

Thanks, Tyler, for picking up and hauling out that trash, leaving the site better than you found it…..

Does anyone get phone calls from a group that leaves an announcement that opposes Elton Gallegly.
I get a call about once a week and there is no identifying number.
I would really like them to stop calling.
Any ideas?

Did anyone else see the documentary “The World We Want” about kids from all over the world taking on the challenge of changing something in their towns, villages, cities, then coming to Washington D.C. to hang out together and to judge the best project?
If so, what made the most lasting impression, or change, in your life?
