The loud explosions resonated throughout the Ojai Valley are caused by a house fire in the 400 block of Grand (near Montgomery) in Ojai. The fire department are on the scene.

Awakened by 4 explosions just before 3 am… house burned on 400 block of Grand Avenue at Daly corner… rumor of bottle rockets, possibly one landing on a house roof, lots of smoke and flame… eyewitness reported two residents, one shirtless, outside on curb crying and in shock…
This was my best friends house. Glad to confirm that every one escaped safely without anything more than a few minor cuts. Unfortunately, a cat was lost in the incident.
After speaking with the city building inspector, the house is a total loss. However, the owner is already looking forward to rebuilding soon.
