Yup, it happened to me-lost my savings , retirement, stocks, from almost a half century of working. It can happen to you. It just keeps going on and on. The greedier get greedier and greedier. Start with Congress that keeps voting themselves incredible raises and health benefits, not to mention their unbelievable retirement and that is only 500 people out of 3 million.

Capitalism, just like any other ideal, is fine until you factor in human greed and personal quests for power.
Congress is disgusting. They would be the first to be beheaded in the French Revolution. They get paid full salary after retirement.
Then there’s figures like the Kennedys, they never took a salary for their services…not like they had to though.

I’m not sure where you get the statistic about retiring with full salary, but that doesn’t appear to be true:
