The reason forest fires start so readily is because of idiots in the Sierra Club and those who support the Sierra Club. They are domestic terroriist who are responsible for destroying millions of acres of our forests. If loggers were allowed to go in and thin out the dense growth it would prevent these massive unnatural destructuve fires from starting.

Is he the defacto head of the party that sets the radical agenda and forces other top party leaders to publicly apologize for any dissension?

Too bad, I guess it's ok to joke about 14 year old girls getting raped. This is the face of the Obama era that we can all look forward to.

First of all, Letterman is not the face of any political party. He is a comedian. Just because those on the right express "outrage" (deliberately in quotes) doesn't mean that he needs to be "condemned".

Second, if you can't see how the right wing rhetoric from Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Scarborough, Malkin and Coulter, all of whom scoffed at the DHS report (ordered by the Bush administration) on right wing extremist violence, has directly resulted in the escalation of violence against blacks and Jews in particular, then maybe its time to turn off Fox News.

I guess it's something we can all look forward to.

Please, please, please explain how any logical person (with the average amount of intelligence and interpretation skills) could infer this from what Letterman said! Or are all of those making such a moronic fuss guilty of not seeing Letterman's actual quote (and his dead serious and sincere comments the following night) and just jumping on another Right Wing rumor-spreading, hate-filled, sh*t-stirring bandwagon?

And then making the farcical quantum leap and blaming the "Obama Era"???
