Town Meeting Set For Gang Talk
Ojai Valley residents who want to work proactively to eliminate gang violence are encouraged to attend a town hall meeting on June 18. Sponsored by Heal the Community, a group of local parents and residents impacted by the April gang-related murder of Seth Scarminach, the forum will allow residents to discuss the issue of gangs in our valley with a panel of community leaders and experts. An OAC evening celebration of "The Weavers"
A star-studded medley of musical guests payed tribute to musical legend Pete Seeger at a recent New York benefit concert for the legendary folk singer's 90th birthday. Ojai isn’t New York, but the town still knows how to pay homage to Seeger and his seminal group “The Weavers.” The Ojai Center for the Arts is honored to be hosting an evening concert Tuesday, June 30 at 7:30 p.m., presenting the tribute band, “Work o' the Weavers.”

Visit Gem Quest Jewelers for Art Nouveau, Vintage Prints and Opera Views from local art consultant Anca Colbert. She's had shows there in the past, and they've always been great, so be sure to pop in. More info and flyer on the show here.
Center Celebrates Babies and Breastfeeding
Families of all kinds gathered at the Nan Tolbert Nurturing Center recently to celebrate and share their experiences of parenting and nursing little ones. By noon, overcast skies opened up, providing a picture-perfect Ojai day for the outdoor picnic that included free massage and home-baked goodies that were donated by friends of the Nan Tolbert Center. U-Pick Lavender in Upper Ojai
There’s a still operating in the Upper Ojai and beginning Saturday, June 20th you’re invited to see it in operation. And don’t come expecting to sip an intoxicating beverage. Instead plan on feeling fully relaxed after a soothing sniff of lavender essential oil or a refreshing spray of lavender hydrosol (lavender water). Learn more at the New Oak Ranch.
