Is it just me, or does it seem like articles are taking up more and more room on the front page? When posting an article, it's usually considered polite to post maybe a picture and a paragraph or a couple of sentences and then post the rest after the break so that there is more room on the front page for more content. Just an observation.

I think it ebbs and flows. I guess this is as good a time as any to announce that I've been thinking about and planning Ojai Post 2.0. If anyone has any features that they'd really like to see, please leave them in the comments here.

Ojai Post 2.0, hmmm...

Maybe comment recommending +/-, DKos style?

I would like to see an easy way to find recent articles that are no longer on the front (home) page.

The way I find them now is by remembering the author who posted the article or video. Then I look up the author's page (which lists all his or her articles) to find the one I'm looking for.

And I agree with SPK --there should be user friendly guidelines as to the length of the opening paragraph that appears on the home page.

There may be exceptions, such as photographs, time-sensitive announcements, etc.

Not sure we need more rules or guidelines. More like covering your mouth when you sneeze kind of thing. You just know not to take up a whole lot of real estate. A really good rule of thumb is, if you are posting your whole article above the break-- don't.

SPK, I'm with you on the 'don't take up too much real estate issue'. I've voiced the same suggestion before but seemed to fall on deaf ears.

That was a nice little tremor!

Just felt a nice little quake... 1:28 P.M.

re: home page real estate - I may set it up to automatically truncate after a certain number of characters, one paragraph, etc.

re: Suza finding articles - do you not use the Search bar on this site? that said, yes I am looking at better and more ways to make content available

re: sonic boom / earthquake - please see new thread on the home page

agree w/comment #1 spk, but i'm voting no on +/- (remember when we had the stars? hated that.)

Lisa - thanks - there is no plan currently to have any sort of individual post rating. I am exploring some tiered commenter levels, i.e. registered/not registered, where both can participate, but perhaps registered commenters have a higher level of visibility.

Thanks, Tyler!

I forgot about using the Search bar... that helps!
