What do people think about the OVN deleting ALL of the comments on all of its threads relating to this recent tragedy?

There have been hundreds of comments. Many have been very revealing of our community as it is.

Now gone.

Our community deserves better.

Don't bother posting any thoughts or comments over there, or sending letters to editor. They will just be suppressed.

Many of those comments were disgraceful, hurtful, inflammatory, racist and completely off-topic. I would have deleted them, too. Most of the comments here have, of late, tended to abide Tyler's two-paragraph comment policy. OVN does not have such a policy, they just say no cussing. Those who cry censorship should look up the word, realize it doesn't apply here, and start their own blog. It's easy and it's free. And don't think you can come over here from the OVN with your poor grammar and hate speech.

"If anybody has anything original or compelling to add, they are encouraged to write a letter to the editor...After more than 1,000 comments, it was time to give it a rest and let cooler heads prevail."

Here is something of an entirely broader subject. I found this to be an excellent commentary. He is stating very well what all of us are beginning to see. I for one, am all for it!
