Videoprojection

Here’s a new form of art which uses projections to interact with architecture and sidewalks in ways I have not seen before.

Really cool, Didj. I would imagine we’ll start seeing this more in live concert performances, too. For example, the Greek Theatre in LA would have their entire architecture (including stage, rigging, trees, etc.) mapped out in a CAD-like digital format. A lighting designer for a tour could then create pre-set digital lighting with triggers for that particular venue. So as Dave Matthew’s Band tours around the country, for instance, they can tailor their visual experience for each venue, knowing precisely where the architectural elements are.

Thanks, Ty. The idea of combining these visual feasts with live music occurred to me as well. I’d love to amalgamate video projection with a didjeridoo performance… It could be quite cabalistic to have mandalas, kaleidoscopes, aboriginal dot drawings etc in the background enhancing the dreamtime rhapsody.

Let’s try this at the Super Happy Vlog House this coming Feb 7 weekend. What can we project on. I’ve got the equipment for this. We could even go mobile with the DC converter. :)

Sounds good, Markus. Just need darkness and a sound system…
