I literally just finished the book Holy Cow, by Sarah MacDonald, about an Australian journalist's love / hate relationship with India, her adopted country for several years while her husband was stationed there for the Australian Broadcasting Station. She muses about many things - the numerous religions that coexist (and sometimes clash) in the country, quirky Indian gurus and their (often quirkier) Western devotees, arranged marriages, the emerging middle class of Mumbai, numerous social taboos, sexism, exotic food, Bollywood, intolerable heat that can drive one batty and yes, even...holy cows!
Good read.
