Happy 3rd Birthday, Ojai Post!

by Tyler Suchman on February 27, 2009

The Ojai Post, February 27, 2006, entry #1:

The Ojai Post is a community blog, featuring Ojai residents from all walks of life writing about the unique Ojai experience. Ojai is a special place, not just for its geography, flora and fauna, small-town architecture and rich native American history – its also because of the people – talented, creative souls who tend to walk to the beat of their own drummer and carve their own path through life. Check in for daily musings, rants, Ojai news and greater goings-on from the place some call Shangri-La.

“You say it’s your birthday? well, happy birthday to you, yeah!”
…we’re gonna have a guuud time…!”
(I do wish John were still around to contribute to our Post!)
Well deserved Congrats, Tyler, for a job well done and for providing and maintaining such an important service to our community! Bravo–I raise a glass of Tommolo Organic Montepulciano (TJ’s, 4.99!) to All!

david! I was wondering where you were…
I was also recently thinking about Phalarope, Dvorah, Kitty Kat and a whole slew of other “oldies but goodies” that seem to be less active these last months.
And yes, Happy Birthday to the Ojai Post – you fabulous portal into all that’s hot (and not) in Ojai!
But just think of all the free time we’d have if you had never been born…(nah, perish the thought!)
Big sloppy hugs and kisses!

Happy Post celebration Tyler :)
wasn’t there some gathering discussed at last year’s b-day?
maybe if not coffee as thought before we could parlay a chat room one evening and have a post soiree online!
Thanks for creating a place that allows for such diversity and celebrates what is truly “Ojai”.
I first found your site when the fires were raging and it quickly became a go-to place for so many things.
I am honored to be part of your brainchild, your vision.
May you and the post live long!

Suza,
You made me so miss my dear, now late, octogenarian friend Meik Laan! She made the birthday chair for me one year when I celebrated with them. Delightful!

DK, goede morgen!
Ik probeer niet meer Hollands te schreiven.(I shall try not to write more Dutch.)Once I get on a roll it’s hard to switch back to English.
It was very nice to read your memory about your octogenarian friend Meik Laan. The Dutch are very big on celebrating birthdays!

I found you when the fires were burning as well — and salute your for keeping the homefires burning just a bit brighter for the last three years in this here valley.
Most excellent. Thank you. :-)
