Automator vs Wordpress vs Facebook
i put this video together to show the process (and difficulty!) of adding a simple Share button to new posts on a Wordpress.com-hosted blog. Wordpress.com does not support social networking bookmarklets such as AddThis, so this more complex process is required. Since it's so labor-intensive, i used Automator to program the task to complete itself, freeing me up to do other things while the button is placed and formatted.

Very impressive, evan! All this stuff seems soooo complicated.
Me? I miss the days of Pong...

Ahhhh, Pong! :-)
There are lots of things I love about Wordpress, including the free hosting on wordpress.com...but I must admit I've not been sure why it's so dang difficult to use any kind of plug-in using their hosting server...
Evan, it sounds like you've outsmarted this...cool!
Best,
Leigh

Leigh, i love WP too! they certainly are making it quite difficult to use lots of cool plug-ins, however, citing security concerns.
i won't say i've outsmarted it yet:
- there are lots of folks exploring these issues, so i had help in figuring out this work-around.
- this is my first Automator workflow, and it doesn't always work very well. i'm educating myself about this program so i can help it work better.
i'm hopeful that Chris will respond to Tyler's question...i was interested in doing a direct video screen capture for this too, but didn't seem to see any solutions that looked easy or clear.
