I’m on the public access television steering committee, where the city, the school district, long-time content providers and private citizens are working on the localization and expansion of public access.
In support of this initiative, with an intention of ultimately showcasing a live simulcast of Channel 10, I am pleased to announce a beta of OjaiTV.com, an online community television network.
I’m still working out the vetting process of adding new “channels”, and how it ties into the community standards protocols for Channel 10 operation, so please bear with me on that.
I’d enjoy your thoughts and suggestions.

Is Ch. 10 going away?
It will continue in some form. Currently, the city is maintaining it. Public access is guided by what is called PEG Programming, where PEG stands for Public-Educational-Governmental. Right now it is essentially “G”. The steering committee is looking to put partnerships and resources into the P and E to make the station a robust, vibrant PEG.
OjaiTV will be simulcasting Channel 10, so, for example, you can watch from work, or watch if you don’t have cable TV (like me).
very cool. i just got appointed to Ventura’s CAPS TV Board in the fall, so I’m still learning.
I’m learning too – once you start getting inside government agencies, regulations, ordinances, utilities, etc. it gets pretty arcane.
thanks for the OjaiTV beta …
glad to see our Grow Food Party Crew/Ojai Permaculture Guild
