More synchronicity.

Raymond, your post came in over mine at the Synchronicity thread.

I just hope those photos were taken in the wild, not some god awful zoo. If they weren't, don't tell me. I want them to really be good luck.

will someone pleeze remove that picture.
even i porky, am horrified at the fugliness of those swine

Raymond left out the first part of the photo caption:

A zookeeper in Berlin holds two Meishan piglets. The pig is a traditional German symbol for good luck at the start of a new year.

"some god awful zoo": http://www.zoo-berlin.de/en.html

Zoo Berlin diminishes the picture but not entirely. Isn't Berlin infamous for some other kind of wall? Oh for the day that all zoos go native.

What beautiful piglets. Thank you, Raymond! May the good luck be returned to you many-fold.

Ray,

Looks like it's time to start deleting comments again. :)

People aren't agreeing with your post that these two pigs will bring good luck! Outrageous!

Let's bring in the New Year the *Right* way -- the *George Bush / major media / Town of Ojai* way: censor those who disagree.

DO NOT LISTEN to those who say that Zoos Are Animal Prisons. Delete them! Hurry, before another person reads that possibly contagious view. Obviously zoos are excellent places for animals to be. Wouldn't you want to be in a zoo if you were an animal? The zookeepers bring you food! You don't even have to hunt for it! I wish people would bring me food!

Everyone's New Year's resolution should be: Work Hard For More Censorship in America (even if that means being censored ourselves), because people with stupid views like "Zoos are Animal Prisons" should really have duct tape placed over their mouths or just "disappeared," if you know what I mean.

If the One True God has told us anything (don't ask me to pin down which religion has the corner on that -- the last thing I want is controversy), it's that IDEAS need to be CONTROLLED . . . by the people who KNOW which ideas should be controlled.

Now a lot of people might comment that Jock Doubleday should be censored for saying what he just said. But Jock Doubleday is the ONLY one who SHOULDN'T be censored on this subject, because if Jock Doubleday is censored, who's going to inform everyone that people with stupid ideas should be censored?

In summary, it's important that MY comment not be deleted, because if it is, then people might not understand that deleting comments is a GOOD thing -- when done by those people who know which comments should be deleted.

And as the morning sun of the New Year dawns, remember the most important thing you will ever come to know: People who disagree with you are wrong.

Thank you, and have a great year. Unless you disagree with me.

Sincerely,

Jock Doubleday

Jock - why aren't you linking back to your non-profit website anymore? How else are you going to give birth on Oprah?

namaste Ray,

for the double happiness blessings.

in this the coming Year of the Ox, 2009.

our happiness started early this morning,
before the arrival of the SUN ... with a
family of five Raccoons who 'discovered'
us and our garden and nursery.

we spent eight hours hosting them today,
and I get the impression they are going
to stay.

and show us the meaning of happiness, one-ness
with divine nature.

with and for all our relations ...

Since most people comment anonymously, they haven't tried putting web site URLs in their posts.

If you ever try to put links in your posts, you'll find that putting one URL allows the comment to go through immediately, but putting two or more sends it to Tyler -- which usually doesn't delay it too much, because Tyler is virtually always at his computer or somewhere where he can approve the comment -- but there is a delay.

To further answer the commenter's question above, I usually post the URL that's most relevant to the comment I'm making.

I'm happy to post my nonprofit's link for the 50th time:

Everyone is welcome to read the information gathered there over a period of ten years. That's what it's for.

If you can help get me on Oprah, I'll be in your debt -- though I can't promise a "shout out."

Regarding your kind mention of my offer to "give birth" (those two words are in quotes on my site :) on Oprah in a physiologically sound -- that is, upright -- position:

The ONLY women in recorded history who have laid down for childbirth are Western women.

The practice of lying down to give birth began when Louis XIV asked the court obstetrician to put Louis' mistress on her back so he could watch her give birth from behind a curtain. The ladies of the court copied the fashion, and then the "common women" copied them. All of these women had previously used the upright position of squatting, usually accompanied by a birthing stool -- a stool with a hole cut out of it for the descending baby.

Backlying positions -- such as the hospital standard "lithotomy position," in which the woman is placed on her back with her legs spread wide and her feet in stirrups -- put pressure on the mother-to-be's sacral tip, which intrudes up to 4 centimeters into the pelvic opening, causing excruciating pain for her as well as for her baby, as her infant's skull scrapes across her tailbone.

In the hospital standard lithotomy position, women must also birth uphill -- at an approximately 20-degree angle. Sound like fun?

Why is a man telling you this?

A question in answer: Is it only women who can pass along information from scientific studies?

Sooooooo cute!!

Did you see the story on Gov. Bragonjevich defying his party by appointing a senator? I've got to admire this guy. Sure he's a crook but he blew the cover off what happens most of the time. The real crooks don't care for that kind of light.

The FBI could have nailed him long ago; they've been investigating him for three years. They brought him in now because he threatened the Bank of America in Chicago; something about 25 M of Chicago funds. The Gov appeared with union workers and really spoke like a man of the people and against the bailout as I recall.

I saw it on Brasscheck TV but can't remember the details. The irony was great. Good old Windy City politics. Richard Daley would love it, hitting the hypocrites in Washington where it hurts--in their bank accounts.

I love the Robinhood balls of this guy.

"Robinhood"? What a freaking joke, Dennis. What brought him down was his attempt to literally sell Obama's old Senate seat. For cash. Or for a plum director seat on a board for his wife. Or for a sweet ambassadorship. And if that didn't work out, he was going to appoint himself to the seat.

Your judgment on this one is abysmal. And no, I'm not going to get into an 8,000 word debate on it. Anyone else that is "endorsed" by you should be simply embarrassed.

In a press conference explaining the arrest and the corruption charges filed against Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D-IL), U.S. attorney Patrick Fitzgerald — who successfully prosecuted Scooter Libby — declared the current case as a “new low.” Fitzgerald described the charges as a “political corruption crime spree.”

Noting that Blagojevich has been under investigation for years for pay-to-play corruption charges, Fitzgerald expressed his amazement that the activity would continue. “You might have thought in that environment, pay-to-play would have slowed down. The opposite happened. It sped up,” he said.

The “most cynical behavior” by Blagojevich pertained to his attempt to sell the open Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama, Fitzgerald said:

The conduct would make Lincoln roll over in his grave. The governor’s own words describing the Senate seat: “It’s a [bleeping] valuable thing. You just don’t give it away for nothing.” Another quote: “I’ve got this thing and it’s [bleeping] golden. I’m just not giving it up for [bleeping] nothing. I’m not going to do it. I can always use it — I can parachute me there.”

Fitzgerald emphasized: “I should make clear that the complaint makes no allegations about the President-elect whatsoever, his conduct.”

In his private conversations, Blagojevich indignantly referred to Barack Obama as a “motherf*cker” and repeatedly cussed him out because Obama refused to engage in the pay-to-play scheme. Blagojevich complained about giving this “motherf*cker [Obama] his senator. F*ck him. For nothing? F*ck him.”

http://thinkprogress.org/2008/12/09/fitz-presser/

He's an idiot, a crook and corrupt to the core. He'd sell out his own grandmother, let alone the blue collar workers of Chicago. Admiring him is beyond the pale, and says a lot about your ongoing surface impressions of people, and relying on your misguided feelings, rather than actually reading up on things.

Yes, I'm being harsh, because your comments about the Governor don't deserve any sort of considered weight on the Post.

Gee, was that Jock Doubleday who posted above.... Jock of three-bean-salad fame?

I kind of thought he must have faded away, because my brothers and sisters have asked him about five times for the reference to his claim that Obama is gay. Funny how he insists on maintaining his silence about that, while he goes on and on and on and on and on about being censored.

You know what? maybe JOCK is the "researcher" who invented the idea that Obama is "gayer than a three-bean salad." Maybe that is why he keeps mum -- he does not want to admit he came up with that looney-tunes notion all by himself.

So I guess we'll just have to call him Three-Bean Jock from now on.... unless he finally decides to come out from behind his wall of silence and tell us where he came up with that looney idea.

Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Three-Bean Jock. Kind of captures his whole mentality.

The following is not an admission of belief or support of any such rumor, yet after all the hoopla about JD's Obama is gay comment and various people saying they did searches and couldn't find any references, I did a Google search and this is what I found: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=accusations+that+Barack+Obama+is+a+homosexual&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=

I would like to commend Jock Dblday for his vision of the the TRUUTH! May we all praise Jesus!!

Ooops...

Raymond,

Thank you for your effort to clarify the allegation made by Three-Bean Jock that there is a "researcher" who said Obama is "gayer than a three-bean salad."

If you just google "Obama is a homosexual" you get 2,970,000 matches. So it's not really helpful to find out who Jock's "researcher" might be.

For comparison, if you google "McCain is a homosexual", you get 1,890,000 matches.

"Brad Pitt is a homosexual" produces 518,000 matches.

"Hugh Hefner is a homosexual" produces 59,000 matches.

"Jock Doubleday is a homosexual" produces 4,680 matches.

"Raymond Powers is a homosexual" produces 1,420,000 matches.

and the grand winner.....

"Bush is a homosexual" produces 5,290,000 matches.

At issue here is Three-Bean Jock's idea of what is a "researcher" when he says there is a "researcher" who claims Obama is "gayer than a three-bean salad."

If you can help us with that, my brothers and sisters in the salad family would be most appreciative.

Until then, we think Three-Bean Jock is the researcher himself.

Raymond,

Tyler has requested that I give it a rest which I will honor.

In deleting my comments you have shown your true colors and the school which you attended.

Dennis, as you will notice I did not delete all of your comments. Note the word comments rather than dissertations. There is a philosophy about being conscious of how are actions affect the greater whole or the highest good for all. You have been requested for months, by quite a few in this community, to practice brevity, to which, I feel, you chose to ignore. Thus at the risk of being the disciplinarian decided to take action on my own thread in the hopes it might create some behavior mod. that will serve the whole rather than the one. My true colors, many, they're all roles, depends who I'm dealing with, school I attended, haven't yet.

For what ever its worth, I believe that DL has a persecution complex. His behavior on these threads has been abysmal, self-righteous and annoying. Dennis appears to be starving for attention. Hopefully, in 2009 he will learn the art of self respect because so far it is glaringly absent from his life. He latches on to iconoclasts displaying his desperation for the camaraderie that his persecution complex makes impossible. In my opinion, the Ojai Post has bent over backwards to give DL a chance to express himself. Sadly, DL has greedily taken advantage of the relaxed policy and just might be the catlyst which ushers in more restraints. Apparently, irony is not only the shackles of youth, but the shackles of the aged as well. Happy New Years to all!
