The Rain in Spain... didn't make the cut
I was mesmerized all day by the patterns and rhythms of the pitter patter. Thanks Tyler for the Carpenters tune. Used to watch their TV show when I was more of a kid. Here's some other great videos. Enjoy:
Annie Lennox - Here Comes the Rain Again (Live Duet)
Quite the Opposite of Karen Carpenters Experience
Fred Astaire - Singing in the Rain
Jame's Taylor's - Fire & Rain (first TV appearance)
Credence Clearwater - Have Your Ever Seen the Rain
Bob Dylan - Hard Rain Gonna Fall (concert for Bangledesh)
A Classic Butch Cassidy clip
Burt Bacharach - Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head

who am I? who are you? whom are we?
James Taylor sang: "Susanne, all the plans they made put an end to you ..."

and James, in the 1970 video posted above by singer/songwriter Raymond Powers, acting as if it is some consumer joke.
is this, the shallow, WHO we are? whom we, Americans, wish to be? our 'great' vision a heartless, mindless, 'happiness'? where we truly came from, 1970 vacuum-dumb?
consciousness, beauty, integrity -- mere 'trample my brother to death Walmart' consumerism, entertainment, perversity, news-speak, politically-correct conformity?
was 'Suzanne' a fiction? not a lover? not a beloved family sister/brother? [only an acquaintance who committed suicide?]
whom are you? who are we?
and what does consciousness mean, to thee?
