You read my mind – been thinking about that song all morning! My mom used to sing that to my sister and I when we were little. KC had such an amazing voice. Today, I’m “frowning” because I have to wear closed-toed shoes. Hope we get a good soak, though.
Couldn’t ask for better weather for those of us home getting ready for tomorrow’s feast. Wishing you and yours a blessed Thanksgiving.
I secretly LOVED Karen Carpenter (waaay too uncool for my crowd!) because of her fabulous, unique vocal style AND she was one of the first girl-drummers in pop. I kept waiting for her to break out on her own, but when she finally did, she was too far gone to sustain. Anorexia technically took her from us, but the stressors of our disfunctional culture and media (and possibly family) ultimately did. Shame on that. But, Karen’s angelic voice will live on…..

Enjoy our local bounty this Thanksgiving, Ojai! WE have much to be thankful for to be able to call this sacred valley home!
Tyler-
(Why do I remember that car? haaaa)
Thanks for posting The Carpenters. It brought me back to our old 8-track player in our Chevy Caprice Classic when I was a kid.
I asked my 3 1/2 yr old daughter what she was thankful for and she told me in this order-
1. Playdough
2. Her Doggies
3. Dora the Explorer
4. Her Dolls
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Cheers,
Matt
