this incident was covered live by KEYT (ABC affiliate in SB) for most of the morning .. KEYT also featured the story on their newscast at 11 pm Monday .. the man is a 27 year old resident of SB and an Iraq war veteran .. he was carrying a revolver during the standoff and surrendered the unloaded gun to the police about an hour before he was taken into custody .. he waved an American flag during the 3-4 hour standoff and tacked it up on the fence surrounding the overpass before he surrendered .. for comprehensive coverage and comments about this story check out www.edhat.com which is an independent interactive Web site for SB and surrounding communities with links and posts from various media and eclectic sources

BTW > the young man was given permission to tack up a pro-Obama sign along with the American flag before he was taken into custody ... according to his statement to KEYT News, he is concerned that very few people who voted in the recent election have any idea about the conditions that our soldiers in Iraq are enduring as they serve our country on a daily basis > as in 24/7 ..... year after year .....
