Ojai Day 2008 to include a wine and beer garden
Ojai Lions Club hosting a Beer and Wine Garden at Ojai Day 2008
If you love a good Pac 10 rivalry and a cold frosty beer as part of your Saturday activities, then make a point of being at Ojai Day on October 18 in downtown Ojai.
Ojai’s premier cultural event and street fair has taken another step forward this year by providing a beer and wine garden in the Los Caporales parking lot next to Libbey Park. And a big screen TV will be set up in the beer garden for the football game between the Stanford Cardinal and UCLA Bruins beginning at 2 p.m. Note able Nordhoff High School Alum Micah Reed is the center for the Bruins.
“This is for the husbands that get drug to the event and don’t really want to shop,” says Ojai Day Director Jody James. “This is going to be a great addition to Ojai Day and I really hope that it be a positive addition to the event.”
Sponsored by the Lion’s Club of Ojai and Time Warner Cable, TVs broadcasting the game will be set up inside and near the beer and wine garden for those who want to watch. More TVs will be setup in the Sports Area, which has moved this year from the Arcade Plaza to the corner of Ojai Avenue and S. Ventura Street and the Ojai Library Courtyard.
The Sports Area will also include the rock climbing wall, the bungee bounce, the basketball free throw competition and various little league sports groups. A collection of autographed items from Micah Reed will also be available in the sports area, James said.
Ojai Valley Lions Club Secretary Tami Winbury said the recently resurrected Lions Club is said to be one of the fastest growing clubs in 222 countries. She said since the club was chartered with 20 members in March 2008 it has grown to 42 members. The Lions Club meets every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at the Oak View Community Center. For more information visit their website: http://www.ojailions.org or send them an email: ojailionsclub@yahoo.com. Or meet them in person at Ojai Day.
Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 18, Ojai Day is the annual downtown street fair hosted by the Ojai Recreation Department. The ultimate in local cultural events, Ojai Day brings together virtually all aspects of the best of Ojai including: art, food, spiritual incantations, multi-ethnic celebrations and good old fashion fun and games. I am indeed looking forward to a cold frosty beer -- as soon as 9/11 truth goes mainstream and the criminals at the helm of our government (and above the helm of our government) are brought to justice. Until then, I'll drink kombucha -- which by the way the Farmer and the Cook and the other health food store have in plenty.
FUN CONTEST! One dollar in paper currency (soon to be worth **nothing!**) is hereby offered to the first person who tells me in which of my just-created 9/11 truth videos "the editor of the Ojai Post" is mentioned:

Have a great day!
And remember, "It's not paranoia if they really are out to get you." :)

Darn, I'm trying to be so nice and you hit me with this bit. Ojai Day. I think I'll fast; maybe eat some ashes. Sorry to be so cultically incorrect but I do it out of a sense of moral correctness and deep sadness and anger for the slaves not invited to the beer and winefest; they will do the serving of course. I'll be in a different garden, drinking a different nectar; you know, the one where Eve reclines and sips.
Happy Ojail Day. Happy Real Ojai Day, that parallel universal Ojai.

Jock you rock. I'll never forget your Jesus 911. The Roman Empire crucified as part of its homeland security and new world order pacification. The US Empire throws people off towers in its pursuit of similar powers.
Love, baby, love; and keep on rocking me all night long, even into that long, cold night of the the new, new world order where everything is so tidy and aseptic as long as you don't look under the rug, in the corners or behind the green doors.
I do have a solution of course but it's too simple to be seen. However, I did see your breakfast chat; hope you've recovered from what you ate. Are you sure you weren't poisoned?
God to go; I'm losing control again.

It's about dam time someone opened a beer garden on Ojai Day. Now I won't have to sneak into the Jester and beg for a to go cup or worse go into the Hub and have a crappy short poured drink. Bravo Ojai Lions!
I love Ojai Day where the women are plentiful and brassiers are optional.

Not sure how we went from beer to Prop 8, but I do hate all those yes on 8 signs on creek road too...

Thanks Dennis.
Had a great time down in L.A. at the 9/11 truth rally this Saturday. Put FIVE 10-minute vids up on youtube :)
Hey, I'm still working on the (second) rock wall at the FF if you want to come out sometime -- while the rest are drinking beer and wine.
Don't forget to check out "The Revolution Will Not Be Organized."
Rock on,
Jock
