This is so ironic because just yesterday I got completely sucked into reading the entire Pink Floyd wikipedia entry on my iPhone. My goal was to find out who did the vocals over the years. Turns out Richard Wright sang lead on the songs “Time”, “Echoes”, and “Astronomy Domine.” He was also a critical player on a couple of my favorite releases – Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of the Moon.
Pretty young age to die. Peace.

I attended the westbeachfestival in Santa Barbara this past weekend and the Friday night highlight was a band called “Poor Man’s Whiskey” who did a mock-up of “The Dark Side of the Moon” called “The Dark Side of the Moonshine”, which was a bluegrass tinged version of the great classic.
The band members were decked out in Wizard of Oz and other hilarious costumes and the performance was extremely funny, witty and musical.
I highly recommed it if you can catch them anywhere.

“Wish You Were Here” is one of those songs that makes me swoon. George plays guitar on Friday nights at Ojai Beverage Company and never tires of me requesting it.

I wonder what will be played at his funeral. The first album I bought was ‘Dark Side of the Moon’. Still in my top five alltime favourite albums.
