Open Thread: Soggy Bottom Edition

(and here's the real deal...)

Comments (12)

This just hit the inbox: Suza Francina has taken out nomination papers for council member.

Hey Suza, how about an official announcement here on the Post?!

soggy bottom...
...then Suza

is this divine poetry?

That was certainly not intended. :)

aren't we all supposed to be teleported or something on
8-08-08?

Millenium?

hey Tyler,

The movie featuring that song -- O Brother Where art Thou? -- is a work of genius, with a fine and subtle sense of humor. Maybe not such a bad way to introduce Suza's candidacy after all!

And doesn't Alison Krauss play a splendid fiddle?!

Hey! It's 1936 again. Once again the Olympics are being held in a fascist country. Yea!

Incumbents in Ojai now face three challengers

The field vying for two open seats on the Ojai City Council got more crowded this week, with the two incumbents facing three challengers, including a former mayor, in the November election. Full story »

What did Suza "author"?

I understand the former mayor is both progressive and green, but maybe she can explain exactly how she plans to address crime and vandalism in our community? Plz no message from spokespigs...

Dear Nourishing Thought (#8),

Do you mean to imply some skepticism by putting the word "author" in quotation marks?

While I am not an authority on everything Suza has written, I do know that she is the author of four well-known yoga books with combined international sales of over 100,000. The best known of her books is The New Yoga for People Over 50. Her most recent book is The New Yoga for Healthy Aging. She is a contributing author to at least a dozen other books. She wrote a weekly column on health and environmental issues for over ten years for Ojai Valley News.

I think it is fair to say that Suza is among the most illustrious and widely read authors in this valley known for its artists and writers. Her presence here raises the international profile of our little corner of the world and reflects credit upon all of our citizens.

To Billy, Comment #9,

I will address all the issues in the coming weeks. Thank you for asking this.

To David, Comment #10,

Thank you for your kind words of support. My books can be ordered by local stores or amazon or barnes&noble.com.

I hope our local book store is able to re open in the future.

Comment#11 was responding to "Nourishing Thought," Comment #8.

I meant to say "My books can be viewed..."

(Not meant as a book plug!)
