It is fantastic they are playing the Bowl next month, but scalped tickets are going for big bucks (see craigslist). Better yet, head over to eBay and see tickets going for over $1k! They are also playing two sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl.

If your going, have a great time. I'm fortunate to have seen them play in the past and they put on a great show.

Radiohead is one of the few bands that have completed an environmental study of concert touring and have modified their habits as a result. Search Google. The biggest impact on touring is the patrons getting to the concert itself. If you ride a bus to the show, you get a free (non-alcoholic) drink and if you carpool with a group, you get (free) priority parking. Kudos to Radiohead.

Whatever happened with the SLAPP suit appeal Jeff F. had going against the City of Ojai? It was to be heard in State Court of Appeal, Second Appellant District, oral argument on July 11. Nothing about it in OVN, yet.

Whatever happened with the city's efforts to get that old gas station across from the library cleaned up? It is a blight on downtown. The old OVN (Fred Volz) used to run an annual Ojai Eyesore contest. It was pretty effective as I recall. The abandoned gas station by Ojai Liquor eventually became Cluff park, the old lumber yard at the ‘Y” also was made into a park. The old bowling alley is unsightly enough, but at least it is on the outskirts of town. The abandoned gas station at Ojai and Ventura Sts. Sits square at the middle of town and it is UGLY.

Yes, indeed we have addressed Ojai's blighted sites on these pages more than once, starting here:

I promised to help get the word out, so here goes....

I just dropped off a baby rabbit (only a few days old) to the Ojai Valley Wildlife Rehabilitation folks. One of my dogs found the baby last night, and the Momma didn't reclaim him...but back to the request. I started chatting with Sharon, and she said they were trying to get the word out that they were in need of cages. So over the coming days-weeks-months when you are cleaning out your garages, barns, store rooms, etc. and you stumble across a cage you no longer need give them a call (805-649-5442). I'm sure they need cages in all sizes - small/medium/large.

These folks do so much in saving the lives of our wildlife we can 'pay it forward' with our help in finding them some much needed cages.

Plus, (if you read this) THANK YOU Tammy, Sharon and Judy for your help with this little guy - he is a little fighter and I'm sure he'll recover nicely under your care!

Just wanted to mention the "Kevin Costner Event" in Ventura yesterday was pretty impressive.
The intersection of Main and California and the way they set up the rather large stage was a natural theater.
If you walked halfway up California you could see the ocean.
It was like the SB Bowl.
Kostner and the Band- Modern West was pretty Americana roots- I only stayed for 3 tunes, but it was decent and the fiddle player was fabulous.
I know our Shades Of Day played earlier in the day but I got there kind of late.
All in all, it was a great day for Ventura.

Woo - that was a helluva ride! Made me sorta woozy. Anyone else feel that?

Lisa

yep it made me woozy too! glad to know so far no major damage

We can get any information from this site like news, business, hotel, restaurant, events, healers, jobs etc. Ojai city in Ventura County, California, United States. The town of Ojai is situated in the Ojai Valley, surrounded by hills and mountains.
