Is Monsanto Ventura County's Expert on Glyphosate Safety?

Jock Doubleday was suspended as an author in October 2008. Despite his claims of censorship, none of his posts have been removed.

Guess who the Ventura Fish and Wildlife Office relied on for unbiased safety information about Monsanto's glyphosate herbicide?

You guessed it. Monsanto.

In the Fish and Wildlife Office's March 31, 2005 report Biological Opinion for the Matilija Dam Ecosystem Restoration Project, glyphosate safety references are limited to:

1) an August 25, 2004 look at Monsanto's "Roundup Pro herbicide technical fact sheet" (a web page that no longer exists); and

2) a 1994 study prepared by toxicologist Mike McKee, a Monsanto employee.

Some of the many studies on glyphosate and glyphosate-containing herbicides not referenced by this report. See also Glyphosate Found in Wastewater Discharged to Streams (2006) and International Program on Chemical Safety.

If you want to read the Ventura Fish and Wildlife Office's March 31, 2005 report (.pdf file), go to the web site of the Matilija Dam Ecosystem Restoration Project and click on "USFWS Biological Opinion."

like Monster Santo, the County Thugs whole existence, drive for money and power, is based on lies and deceptions.

for example, though their whole public spiel about poisoning the River Bottom and Matilija Canyon pivots around their bs advertising campaign that they HAVE TO GET RID OF THE CANEGRASS AND THAT IS WHY THEY ARE USING ROUNDUP.

the fact is they are spraying RoundUp on ALL THE PLANTS THAT THEY DO NOT LIKE. [they have a BIG, and official and public, list of the plants they are spraying.] The RoundUp Propaganda is just that, a lie.

they are poisoning the WHOLE OF THE WATERSHEDS, plants and animals, because they want to DRAMATICALLY REDUCE THE POPULATION OF PLANTS AND ANIMALS TENFOLD, in order to make the watersheds safe for steelhead and fishermen and tourists and parking lots.

the COUNTY'S poison campaign has ZERO to do with returning the natural watershed environment -- life -- it is ONLY about giving total power over the watershed to the government thugs, their contractors and Monsanto.

the ONLY result will be the evaporation of the Matilija River and the Ventura River ... as the reduction of biomass and biodiversity will disappear those springs and ground waters still existing!

in the balance of the US these hoods masquerading as scientists have presided over the TOTAL ELIMINATION of ninety-six percent of the Wetlands and creeks and rivers ... 96 percent, their official numbers ... their gangster legacy.

...they want to privatize the water too,
