Walk Score
Walk Score is intended for home buyers, renters, and real estate agents, by showing a map of what's nearby and calculating a Walk Score for any property. With $4 gas, I would assume people are starting to reconsider how they get from A to B.
We moved from downtown Ojai (Walk Score: 86) to the east end (Walk Score: 18). Of course, we just got back from a really nice walk, where we didn't have a store or restaurant as a destination. Check yours out - let's see who has the highest and lowest scores.

brilliant! i'm curious, however, as to why my Walk Score is 78/100 and your former one was 86/100 when we used to live just a few blocks from each other!
still, though: very cool tool. and i DO love living so close to town and all my needs!

92/100 Walk Score. Not bad. :-)
Funny though, they have Theatre 150 listed under movie theatres.

Very Cool!
My address scored 78. I suspect these scores are not perfect assessments of walkability, but close enough. I think this is a great tool! Wonder how widely known this is.

I got an 89 from my downtown loc. But many of the businesses I've moused over are incorrectly categorized (does Ojai Concrete really sell hardware?), or are incorrectly located (Oaktree Bakery isn't on Sunset Pl., Theater 150 has moved to Matilija, etc.) Worst of all, Libbey is mispelt Libby.
Still a neato 2 minute engagement. I'm sure my "bike score" would be 99%... seems to be to me anyway.

Why only walk score? Maybe also we should use drive score This service is already used from Fizber.com I think it's a good idea:)!

Yes, walk score is real a good idea! But why only walk score? How often do we walk nowadays? More and more people drive cars.
I have also tried one more service at http://drivescore.fizber.com/. It is called Drive Score. With the help of it you can see how close establishments are by car. Try! It's really a perfect idea!

Yes, that way if it's under three miles you have the option of leaving your car at home and walking, skating or bicycling instead!

It’s difficult to me to understand how computer counts my walk, drive and others scores. By what criterion it judges? I always don’t agree with my mark and I feel upset! I don’t need most things (Gas Station, Railway Station) that computer proposing to me. But I found a service drivescore.fizber.com that offers me to choose things by myself. So my score became much higher than it was. So you can think that you are living in a kingdom of heaven.
