The World According to Monsanto

The French documentary, called “The world according to Monsanto” and directed by independent filmmaker Marie-Monique Robin, paints a grim picture of a company with a long track record of environmental crimes and health scandals.

biodegradable -- "someday, eventually, this product will not be a deadly toxin ..."

until that time it will kill, maim, deform ...

Milk from cows receiving supplemental bST is unchanged and just as wholesome and nutritious as always - full of calcium, protein, phosphorus and vitamins. In fact, the level of bST in milk remains the same.

D.H. Cow: your link does not work. I suggest you watch the video and check the reliability of your data. Monsanto is dead in the water.

I did get the link to work MD. Don't wast your time watching it.
Don't have a cow!, I do not know very much, but, I promise you, Monsanto has NO interest in public health.

For a thoughtful discussion of the artificial bovine growth hormone controversy, readers might want to see this story in the new D.C. based Washington Independent:

http://www.washingtonindependent.com/view/milking-it

To wit:

"Most of the nation's leading dairy processors use milk from cows treated with the bovine growth hormone in at least some products. Land O'Lakes, Good Humor-Breyers, Dreyers, Dannon, Yoplait and Sargento are some of the biggest buyers of milk from rBST-treated cows. Dean Foods and Kraft, the leading U.S. dairy producers, use rBST milk in many products, but not all. In June, Kraft will introduce a line of rBST-free 2-percent milk products.

Kraft spokesman Basil Maglaris says the company is responding to a growing consumer movement. "We do understand that some consumers -- not all -- are looking for products from cows not treated with [rBST]," said Maglaris. "So we are converting the line to give those consumers an option."

Converting the line will mean an increase in price for those 2-percent products. But Kraft says that rBST-free products will attract new customers.

Many of those customers are pointing to related health concerns -- for both cows and humans. According to Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility, rBST increases the risk of cancer by elevating levels of another hormone, IGF-1. High levels of IGF-1 can promote breast cancer, prostate cancer and colon cancer."

Chemicals are bad, corporations are bad, profit is bad, science is bad, milking cows is unnatural and bad, dairy farming if you make a profit is bad, Monsanto is bad, roundup is bad, weeds are good, lower food production is good, farms going out of business is good, economic collapse is good, cavemen are good, progress is bad, feeding millions of people is bad, enineering ways to feed more people is bad, profiting from bio-engineering is bad, teaching science is bad, learning science is bad, digging weeds on your hands and knees is good, having illegal imigrants digging weeds on their hands and knees is good, one organic farmer feeding 3 people is good, a modern farmer feeding 50 people is bad.

Hey good-bad: I think it's sad that you are unable to go beyond dualistic thinking. I think it is sad that you did not watch this fantastic documentary. I think its sad that Monsanto has spent millions of dollars to keep folks uninformed. I think its sad that the EPA completely sold out and helped Monsanto falsify data concerning the effects of GMOs (genetically modified organisms) on human beings - consumption of GMOs leads to precancerous cellular conditions). I think its sad that Roundup is being used by farmers - talk about shooting yourself in the foot:

Roundup is an herbicide and all herbicides are pesticides. The EPA definition of a pesticide includes all forms of –cides. Roundup and its active ingredient, glyphosate, are made by Monsanto. Other products and contaminants that can be attributed to Monsanto are: Saccharin, Astroturf, agent orange, dioxin, sulphuric acid, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), plastics and synthetic fabrics, research on uranium for the Manhattan Project that led to the construction of nuclear bombs, styrene monomer, an endless line of pesticides and herbicides (Roundup), rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone that makes cows ill), genetically engineered crops (corn, potatoes, tomatoes, soy beans, cotton), and it's most significant product to date; Lies, Factual Distortions and Omissions.

On to Roundup….

The active ingredient in Roundup, glyphosate, is linked to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma—a cancer—and the inhibition of steroidogenesis— the obstruction of steroid creation in the body. This means that it is a carcinogen and an endocrine disruptor.

Roundup's surfactant—reduces surface tension, allowing the pesticide to flow better over the crop—is more toxic than its active ingredient, glyphosate. In combination with glyphosate, a synergy is created that makes Roundup many more times toxic. For the same reason that the surfactant promotes a reduction in surface tension, it may also aid the penetration into the body.

Many of common household chemicals, cleaners, and beauty and health care products, and plastics also act in synergy with many pesticides. Nuclear radiation works this way also. It is made more deadly by the chemicals in the air, water, and in our bodies.

Think of the thousands of troops who have been exposed to the ionizing radiation of depleted uranium (DU) in the war in Iraq—as well as Afghanistan, Gulf War I, the Falklands, Vieques, etc.—in the presence of an extremely wide range of other toxicants such as Roundup. There are so many combinations that no one could possibly keep track of them all. But that doesn’t mean we should be nonchalant about any of this stuff.link to article

Ha!, You make my point, everything you've regurgitated from your junior collage D sudent professor is fabricated. Designed to lead the ignorant masses to the over priced organic food counter. Hey, if you enjoy paying for identical over priced food, be my guest.

A world-famous British scientist failed to disclose that he held a paid consultancy with a chemical company for more than 20 years while investigating cancer risks in the industry, the Guardian can reveal.

Sir Richard Doll, the celebrated epidemiologist who established that smoking causes lung cancer, was receiving a consultancy fee of $1,500 a day in the mid-1980s from Monsanto, then a major chemical company and now better known for its GM crops business.

While he was being paid by Monsanto, Sir Richard wrote to a royal Australian commission investigating the potential cancer-causing properties of Agent Orange, made by Monsanto and used by the US in the Vietnam war. Sir Richard said there was no evidence that the chemical caused cancer...

Milk: America’s Health Problem

Why is American Milk Banned in Europe?

American dairy milk is genetically-modified unless it’s labeled “NO rBGH”
Genetically-engineered bovine growth hormone (rBGH) in milk increases cancer risks.
American dairy farmers inject rBGH to dairy cows to increase milk production.

European nations and Canada have banned rBGH to protect citizens from IGF-1 hazards.

Monsanto Co., the manufacturer of rBGH, has influenced U. S. product safety laws permitting the sale of unlabeled rBGH milk. (Monsanto would lose billions of dollars if rBGH were banned in America.)

Q. Is there any milk not contaminated with rBGH and IGF-1?
A. Yes. Milk that is clearly labeled “NO rBGH” is free of rBGH and does not contain excess levels of IGF-1.

Q. What about cheeses?
A. American-made cheeses are contaminated with rBGH and excess levels of IGF-1 unless they’re labeled “NO rBGH”. Imported European cheeses are safe since Europe has banned rBGH.

New Study Links Monsanto's Roundup to Cancer
PRESS RELEASE - 22 JUNE

A recent study by eminent oncologists Dr. Lennart Hardell and Dr. Mikael
Eriksson of Sweden [1], has revealed clear links between one of the
world's biggest selling herbicide, glyphosate, to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a form
of cancer [2].

fox news coverup Monsanto's poison milk

Hey you nut cases, Don't drink the water it has floride in it! and what are those chem trails in the sky?

Why is USA milk banned in Europe? Don't you find it suspicious that Floride in the drinking water was first tested in concentration camps during the Holocost? Calling us 'nutcases' may allow you to dismiss the vast amount of evidence against the giant toxic sociopathic corporation called Monsanto, but will not deter anyone with at least the awareness of a worm.

#14, what do you think "chem" means? Chemicals that are being sprayed in the air by military planes over California, just look up in the sky ! Use your pea size brain.

best movie, since Rocky
