I work just off Stanley and it took me an hour to get home tonight! Apparently, a motorhome ran out of gas near Creek Road. And, yes, it's raining in Ojai!

Hey -- in between the rain drops, does anyone have any idea why we were being buzzed by military helicopters this afternoon? My poor horses were convinced that the mothers of all horseflies were coming to get them!

I saw a dozen military vehicles leaving the Valley as I was entering Casitas Springs tonight around 10:30pm.

Power is out on the East End. iPhone is rocking though, and I have the candles and handcrank flashlight on hand. Feel free to report any additional disturbances in the Force on this thread.

#10, a GPS is a global positioning system. They are a hand held device that is used to navigate anywhere on earth.

They are really quite handy, for instance, if I were to give you a location (in gps coordinates) of a place somewhere along a trail where I stashed a beeswax candle and some honey ( in a water tight container), you would be able to find it using your gps.

Are the GPS receivers accurate enough to find an individual spot? This could be a way to share the special places of the elfin forest in and around the Ojai.

GPS and Google Earth can zero in on that last sheet of toilet paper on the roll in your master bathroom

With springtime coming it it would be a good time for people actually be the "search engine". I've got a few spots I'm thinking about. Google earth would only find the first coordinates however, the ultimate destination, and clues would be given at the first point, you would need a gps to actally find the treasure. I'm preparing a nice little treasure for some enterprizing outdoor enthusiast, I've been toying with the idea of throwing in a flash drive with some cool stuff on it, a honey bear and candle.

Peace is a word
Of the sea and the wind.
Peace is a bird who sings
As you smile.
Peace is the love
Of a foe as a friend;
Peace is the love you bring
To a child
Searching for me
You look everywhere,
Except beside you.
Searching for you
You look everywhere,
But not inside you.
Peace is a stream
From the heart of a man;
Peace is a man, whose breadth
Is the dawn.
Peace is a dawn
On a day without end;
Peace is the end, like death
Of the war.
"Peace - an End"

The bridge at the corner
A road less traveled
When does the light streak to the death
When our light has turned to darkness
When our seas are green with the glow
I will lead the golden hue to the gates of our blessed tree
