Maria Shriver Endorses Obama
As Kenley pointed out in the comments on a previous thread, Maria Shriver endorsed Barack Obama this afternoon at a rally at UCLA. Wow, this is really big news as this should be the top headline tomorrow in papers across the state the day before the California Primary. I think we're witnessing a tidal change in American politics - that's exciting.

Well, I gotta say, that was AWESOME! Maria, Oprah, Carolyn, Michelle...what a bunch of great women!
"We are the one we have been waiting for..."
This might even get Mr. M.T. to register to vote!

looks like nader might run again. i'm really hoping all that are excited about obama, stay excited and vote for him in november. in a perfect world, people could vote for nader, but after the close race in the past and the florida voting nightmare - and especially the need to get a republican out of the white house - we have to say no to nader this time around and vote obama.

Very interesting opinion in the Washington Post by Michael Chabon called Obama vs. the Phobocracy. Just to give you a flavor:
"But the most pitiable fear of all is the fear of disappointment, of having our hearts broken and our hopes dashed by this radiant, humane politician who seems not just with his words but with every step he takes, simply by the fact of his running at all, to promise so much for our country, for our future and for the eventual state of our national soul. I say "pitiable" because this fear of disappointment, which I hear underlying so many of the doubts that people express to me, is ultimately a fear of finding out the truth about ourselves and the extent of the mess that we have gotten ourselves into. If we do fight for Obama, work for him, believe in him, vote for him, and the man goes down to defeat by the big-money machines and the merchants of fear, then what hope will we have left to hold on to?"

P.S. - Ralph Nader is already on the Green ballot in California.

Nader won't be a factor this time. The real question is will Ron Paul go Indy and run(a good thing for either democrat candidate). Also, Bloomberg might decide to try and buy the Presidency. If he runs he's likely to drain off Mod repugs and DLC dems together. Bloomberg will probably jump in as the corprotocracy candidate if Hillary loses. Happy voting.

Am I the only one who thinks it odd that the wife of our Republican governor is coming out to endorse Obama?
Call me paranoid, but it strikes me this is further evidence that the Republicans want Obama, not Clinton, as the Democratic nominee.

Maria Shriver has always been a steadfast liberal Democrat. In fact, thank goodness, she is far less likely to be swayed to veer towards "the other side" than is her husband with regard to his party’s ideals.

Hillary is much more qualified to lead this country than Obama. The rt.has endorsed Obama because McCain will beat him!
Obama was not voting during the Iraq vote, but,
he has voted 4x for more $$ for the war since!!
WAKEUP, THIS IS POLITICS
