<description>Ed - that&#039;s a nice post. I&#039;m sure we&#039;ll see you around, and I would like to see you integrated a bit more into the conversations as they relate to Ojai and with an ear for what others are saying. Cheers, Tyler

<description>Tyler: I realize I’m breaking radio silence and getting banned by this message but I don’t plan on posting any more. I’ve pretty much said what I have to say anyway I guess. I might say that this is the most dynamic and motivating blog I’ve yet encountered and I feel like I’ve almost come to know people on it in a short time. I feel my intentions were good in that my motivation was to impart truth as I perceived it for the protection and benefit of Ojai and anywhere else for that matter. But as some bard in history has observed “The road to the theological hot place is paved with good intentions” which may be the story of my life, for offending people and overstaying my welcome seem to be my main talents. Nevertheless I’ve come to know Ojai as a really beautiful place and I hope it continues that way. Strangely, overall, this blog has been a singularly unique, informative and motivating mile stone along the journey in the space-time sea that we all must travel so to speak. I wish you all the best of everything, it’s been a good ride.--Ed.

		<description>Hi Anonymous,
Sorry I didn&#039;t respond, but I thought now was a great time to chip all the tree trimmings I piled in the corner of my lot.
I just did a quick check of all the fire sites, and saw there was going to be a news conf. at 4PM (which I missed) about all the fires. I hope I&#039;m wrong, but it&#039;s looking like another fire storm season like the one just a year or so ago. I said I&#039;m keeping my eye on the Piru fire, and the Ventura site is says:
RECOMMENDED: Piru Canyon. PRECAUTIONARY: Piru and Fillmore residences with exposure to wildlands. EVACUATION CENTER: Fillmore Venterans Memeorial Bldg., 511 Second St., 524-1500. Take livestock to Ventura County Fairgrounds, 866-387-8911 or 805-388-4341 ext. 9.
Talk about dejavu, the Piru fire is being called the Ranch Fire (my first fire here in Ojai), and the commander is Jeanne Pincha-Tulley (the same commander that ran the Day fire). The fire sites are saying that San Francisco has been called to respond to the Piru fire.
In San Diego 2 firefighters were injured when the fire over ran their truck and one civilian killed - today&#039;s winds are pushing the fires.
I&#039;m fire/evacuation weary, so I sure hope I&#039;m wrong on these fires.
More info can be had at Inciweb:
http://www.inciweb.org/incident/1002/
and Ventura County:
http://fire.countyofventura.org/
Upper Ojai is now smokey (sigh)....and tomorrow the Santa Ana&#039;s start.

		<description>Ginnys-
I&#039;m sorry.
I just reread your post and saw the note on the Sedgewick and Figueroa fires in SB.
Maybe that it what I saw yesterday

		<description>Ginnys-
I was in Santa Barbara yesterday and the sky was very very &quot;sooty&quot;.
I was told it was the winds kicking up the ash from the previous fires.
Is that what we are seeing today in Ojai, or is this new?

<description>I hate to ruin everyones weekend, but if you look at the sky you can see smoke again (sigh).
Here&#039;s the latest...my worry is the Piru one with memories of the Day fire.
Form GACC Sops:
10/21 1100 Ranch Fire; has burned 1600 to 1800 acres. The fire is burning parallel with Los Angeles County boundry.
10/21 1005 Canyon Fire; According to the Los Angeles Sheriff&#039;s Department, the Fire has jumped PCH and is burning structures right on the beach.
10/21 0945 Los Angeles City Fire is working 1-5 acres of grass and brush in the Porter Ranch area. Firefighters working to pick up the incident fire reported laying down at this point.
10/21 0945 Ranch (CA-ANF-1306); 550 + acres I-5 cross of Templin Highway in the Castaic area. Thge fire is burning in a southwest direction. The fire is burning in grass and light to moderate fuels, winds 35+ mpg sustained with 50+ gusts reported. fire presorted a potential threat to Lake Piru a town of 1,200 people about 5 miles to the west and across a small lake from the blase. A condor Preserve was also potentially threatened. Picnha-Tulley CIMIT #3 is being mobilizee to this incident.
10/21 0945 Sedgewick (CA-LPF-1783); 250-300 acres brush burning near Siedgewick Ranch area and Figueroa Mountain 20 structures reported threatened approximately. Los Padres National Forest and Santa Barbara Clounty in unified command.
Keep your fingers crossed for Ojai yet again.... I know they aren;t near yet, but neither was the Day when it ran to our back door...and this time we have Santa Anas predicted for Mon and Tues.
