Just talked to Larry at the Zaca Fire Information Center, manned by the US Forest Service, here is the final update for the evening:
183,408 acres burned (which I believe makes it bigger than the Day Fire)
75% contained (huge advance from yesterday)
$81.7 million in cost
2,945 people on the lines and in support (small reduction from yesterday)
There was a significant concentration on the southeast end of the fire today (which would be the potential threat to Matilija), where burnout procedures “went well” and “covered a lot of acreage.” The burnout included the Pendola Jeep Way north to Diablo Canyon, where it met the fire. The giant white plumes visible throughout the day were the result of these backfires.
Backfires also were set and managed from Ogilvy Road and connected with the fire. There was some movement on the northeast front into the Dick Smith Wilderness.
From last thread (Friday Evening update), there were some comments about the fire jumping into the Matilija Wilderness. The Forest Service clarified the following: the fire did NOT jump the Monte Arido Ridge. Two hundred acres did NOT burn in the Matilija Wilderness.

Reader Ginny sent this image from GeoMac (click to enlarge), representing a late afternoon update.
Elsewhere, there is no smoke over Ojai this evening, and the community meeting is still on for tomorrow, 2pm – see the info and link at the top of the main page of the Post. Have a great evening!

so, what is the background for Matilija Canyon, anyone?
did I read that it was 1932, the year of the Matilija Fire? how behind is the Canyon on burning? have there been controlled burns in recent years, or does it all need to burn now, and long behind schedule?
I have been told that the County government causes a lot of trouble for Matilija residents, as it does for everyone in the county. perhaps this fire, orchestrated by the Fed, is a chance for Matilija to get cleaned up?
any Matilija Canyon residents want to bring us up to date on the current status of the Matilija forest?

PRECAUTIONARY EVACUATION ISSUED
Saturday, August 18, 2007 6:00 p.m.
The Zaca Fire has moved east towards Highway 33 has become established in Deal and Rancho Nuevo Canyons in the Dick Smith Wilderness. This has prompted the Ventura County Sheriff to issue a Precautionary Evacuation for residents along the west side of Highway 33 from the Ventura/Santa Barbara County Line to Pine Mountain Summit beginning Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 6:00 pm.
Also…
The Zaca Fire is now number 3 on the largest fires in California list at 183,408 Acres according to the evenings 209
Millennium – The only info I can find is that the Wheeler burned in some of the same area as the Matilija. The bad news is the Wheeler was 1985, so you’re looking at 20+ yrs of growth. For certain (from the map Tyler posted for me) it hasn’t burned in the last 6 years – and 10+ that I personally know of.
Sorry, but maybe some of the Ojai ol’ timers can give you more info.
Good luck and be safe.
How many animals have been killed so far?
Millennium,
Now is not the time for Muckraking about Matilija Canyon. You have no idea what is needed there. This kind of speculation is not useful at this time. Please be more aware of the affects of your comments. The Canyon and the people who live there will receive their blessing. If you want to support them, please consider the effects that comments like, does it all need to burn now, and long behind schedule?, and, a chance for Matilija to get cleaned up?, when talking about peoples homes. If the fire comes down the canyon, the fire department will leave like they did in ’87. I suspect that the impression that this potential event could leave on the land holders there would not be one of feeling “cleaned up”, particularly given the fact that some may not be legally allowed to rebuild.

Firefighting jumbo jet returns to danger zone
Specialized DC-10 back in states fleet after near-crash, extensive repairs
By Steve Geissinger, MEDIANEWS SACRAMENTO BUREAU

IT SEEMS THAT PEOPLE FIGHTING THE FIRE AND COMMENTING ABOUT IT HAVE, FOR THE MOST PART, FORGOTTEN WHAT THE PURPOSE OF FIRE DEPARTMENTS IS. IT IS TO PUT FIRES OUT!! NOT “MANAGE” THEM FOR WEEKS OR MONTHS WHILE THEY THREATEN,DESTROY,AND KILL. FIRE IS NOTHING TO FOOL AROUND WITH, IT HAS TO BE STOPPED IMMEDIATLY. THE FAILURE OF THE U.S.FOREST SERVICE TO DO THIS NOW AND OVER THE LAST 12 YEARS HAS CAUSED THE LOSS OF THOUSANDS OF HOMES AND SCORES OF LIVES INCLUDING THE BURNING OF LOS ALAMOS, NM. AND OUR NUCLEAR FACILITIES THERE IN 2000, AND THAT WAS STARTED BY A “CONTROLLED BURN” BY THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE AGAINST THE WARNINGS OF THE U.S. WEATHER BUREAU, ACCORDING TO NEWS REPORTS. THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING HERE RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THE FOREST SERVICE WON’T ALLOW THE DC-10 SUPERTANKER TO DROP RETARDENT ON FEDERAL LAND TO END THE FIRE OUTRIGHT. MY FAMILY WAS ALMOST KILLED IN THE LAST BIG FIRE IN THE YUCCA VALLEY AREA AND NOW I HAVE RELATIVES IN OJAI THREATENED BY THE SAME FOREST SERVICES’ INSANELY INCOMPETANT FUNCTIONING. ALL THE RECENT MAJOR FIRES, INCLUDING THIS ONE, COULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED IN A SINGLE DAY IF A SUPERTANKER HAD BEEN CALLED IN AT THE BEGINNING!! IT’S OBVIOUS THE FOREST SERVICE IS BURNING CALIFORNIA (AND ABOUT TEN OTHER STATES) BY RESTRICTING SUPERTANKERS FROM FEDERAL LAND AND WE SHOULD DEMAND BETTER FROM OUR PUBLIC OFFICIALS–NOW!! WE SHOULD USE THE DC-10 CONTINUOUSLY ON FEDERAL AND STATE LAND UNTIL THIS FIRE IS OUT. –ED NEMECHEK –760-246-8059
JEEZE, STOP YELLING!
Mr. Ed: Though I hear your pain, it pains me to read rhetoric online in full capitals. It’s not proper form nor is it polite. Also, it doesn’t do what you mean for it to do, to help emphasize your point. Use capitalized letters sparingly. Thank you.
http://www.virtu-software.com/ask-doug/QandA.asp?q=15
Normally I would agree with Emily Post, but when the house is burning down, yelling is appropriate. I’m not a fire expert, so I don’t know if what Ed says is true, but if it is, we should all be yelling! I appreciate that he identifies himself and leaves his contact number.
blessings ‘People’s homes’,
are you saying that the purpose of this USDA Managed Fire is to burn people’s homes — and evict them from Matilija Canyon?
my questions were quite clear — what is the status of the FOREST, for those who can read, and is it ahead or behind schedule on burning? [and whose responsibility is it, the managed burning of the FOREST?]
for those who ARE interested in the livelihoods of our sisters and brothers who reside in the sacred Matilija Canyon …
In hopes of quieting Mr Ed’s rants (a little) – the state has heard our complaints. The DC-10 out of Victorville is under an ‘exclusive use’ contract with CAL FIRE through 2009, and has been flying on the Zaca since last Sunday. In fact I’ve heard that they are also requesting the 747 be put into use. Don’t believe me on the DC-10? Follow the link.
http://www.fire.ca.gov/newsreleases_content/downloads/2006archive/Tanker910factsheet.pdf
As for Mr Ed’s contention that fires need to be extinguished immediately – remember the Old Man fire? Mother Nature does need to clear land to maintain a healthy environment otherwise we end up with monsters like the Zaca burning in areas that haven’t burned in recorded history.
For our Matilija residents and the rest of Ojai (including me) I’m preying we will all be safe. One thing I’ve learned about living in Ojai is – it burns or floods yearly. During my stay here every other year I get that ominous knock on the door in the middle of the night telling me to evacuate. Heck I was evacuated 3 times during the Day back in Sept-Oct. Living in the ‘backcountry’ if you have followed all the advice from the fire folks (clearing, access, etc.) there is a good chance you will be OK. If you haven’t – the fire folks will walk your property (property inspection) as the fire approaches and make notes of the resources needed to clear high fire risks (cutting and digging). The only advice I can give is prepare to evacuate as the fire nears, and evacuate when told to. I was one of the fools in my first fire here….I didn’t evacuate and remember standing in my yard trying to extinguish a 100 ft pine tree that exploded with a garden hose. Never again – I just became another problem the ‘professionals’ had to deal with.
Oh, and before Mr. Ed begins ranting about waiting so long (last Sunday) to put the DC-10 in the air on Zaca – it was because of the accident in Tehachapi and the need for repairs. When repairs were completed it headed to SB and the Zaca.

Thank you Ginny, for all your thoughtful clarifications.
If you are having the same problem as me – can’t get linked to Inciweb (surprise, surprise). Here’s the latest info I’ve found -
For Immediate Release
Precautionary Evacuation Issued
Highway 33 Closed To All Traffic
New Cuyama- On the northeast perimeter of the Zaca Fire, the fire continues to be active in the Deal and Rancho Nuevo Canyons in the Dick Smith Wilderness, three miles west of Highway 33. As a result of the activity, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office issued a precautionary evacuation for residents along the west side of Highway 33 from the Venture/Santa Barbara County Line to Pine Mountain Summit.
Beginning at 10:00 am today, Highway 33 between Ventucopa and Wheeler Gorge will close to all traffic, including residents. The closure is required due to a backfire operation planned for today along Highway 33 from the Pine Mountain Road to Ozena.

For those asking about the DC-10, here it is at work.

USE THE DC-10 ON FEDERAL LAND WHERE IT IS NEEDED! I REALLY WISH THAT PEOPLE WOULD INVESTIGATE THINGS IN GREATER DEPTH, BUT TO ANSWER GINNYS POSTING, ESPECIALLY AVAILABILITY OF SUPERTANKERS, I WISH TO COMMENT AS FOLLOWS. TRUE, THE DC-10 WAS LAID UP FOR A MONTH BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN BACKED UP BY THE BOEING 747 THAT THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE PUT OUT OF SERVICE BY REFUSING TO USE IT. HOWEVER THERE WAS AND IS ANOTHER BACK-UP SUPERTANKER THAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN AVAILABLE BUT OF COURSE ALWAYS REFUSED BY THE US FOREST SERVICE TO THE TRAGEDY OF OUR COUNTRY. I SPEAK OF THE RUSSIAN FLEET OF 5 (NOW 6) IL-76 SUPERTANKERS, COMPARABLE TO THE DC-10, OFFERED TO US BY THE RUSSIANS AT WATERBOMBER.COM (ON INTERNET)AT I-804-240-4065 AT COST ONLY CHARGES (DIRT CHEAP) REFUSED BY THE FOREST SERVICE SINCE 1995. THE RUSSIAN FLEET COULD PUT OUT EVERY UNCONTROLLED WILDFIRE IN OUR COUNTRY WITHIN DAYS RIGHT NOW BUT THEY HAVE BEEN REFUSED BY THE FOREST SERVICES’ CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE SUPERTANKERS SINCE 1995. THE SCANDAL I’M UNRAVELING HERE MUST BE STOPPED AND THE OFFICIALS INVOLVED PROSECUTED. I WOULD ALSO REMIND PEOPLE OF THE TRAGEDY RECENTLY OF THE FIVE FIREFIGHTERS BURNED ALIVE IN THE YUCCA VALLEY AREA WHILE THE DC-10 SAT INACTIVE ON THE RUNWAY AT SCLA AIRPORT, IN VICTORVILLE 70 MILES AWAY,BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER CALLED BY THE FOREST SERVICE TO THIS FIRE IT COULD HAVE EXTINGUISHED IN MINUTES IF CALLED TO DO SO. WE MUST CALL OUR PUBLIC OFFICIALS TO STOP THIS MURDER BY BUREAUCRATIC POLICY. -ED NEMECHEK -760-246-8059.
The DC-10 is on its way to drop a load on your caps lock key.
Here-Here Anonymous! Now off to the meeting.
See ya’ll there!
MORE INFORMATION FOR SUZA ABOUT THE SUPERTANKERS THE US FOREST SERVICE HAS NEVER AND IS NOT USING: IF YOU WONDER ABOUT MY ACCURACY, HERE’S SOME PLACES TO CHECK: DC-10 SUPERTANKER (ON INTERNET), EVERGREEN SUPERTANKER (ON INTERNET) WATERBOMBER.COM (ON INTERNET),FIREBOMBER PUBLICATIONS BLOG (ON INTERNET). ALSO, REMEMBER THAT THE FOREST SERVICE WILL NOT USE THE DC-10 ON FEDERAL LAND, WHERE MOST OF THE FIRES ARE, BUT THANKS TO GOVERNOR SCHWARTZENEGGER AND THE HEAD OF CAL-FIRE AVIATION, MIKE PEDILLA, WE AT LEAST HAVE THE DC-10 COVERING CALIFORNIA PROPERTY. THE TROUBLE IS WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE FIRE TO BURN UP HUNDREDS OF SQUARE MILES OF FEDERAL LAND + PEOPLE AND BUILDINGS BEFORE WE CAN USE IT WHEN IT FINALLY GETS TO STATE OR COUNTY PROPERTY! WE SHOULD CALL OUR LEADERS NOW AND DEMAND SUPERTANKERS BE USED ON FEDERAL LAND CONTINUOUSLY. -ED NEMECHEK–760-246-8059.
Ed – I think you have an important issue on your hands, but please remember that The Ojai Post is for the Ojai community. Our primary directive is providing information that the Ojai community needs to make plans, smart decisions, etc.
So while I am sure an argument can be made that using or not using the DC-10 directly affects Ojai (and it has, positively, in the last two major forest fires), the larger issues of jurisdiction, legislation, etc. you raise are probably not going to get the traction on The Ojai Post that you are looking for. I could be wrong, its just a hunch based on my knowledge of our readership.
You might want to look into other blogs as well as the Post, that might cover fire safety, forest issues, governmental regulation and jurisdiction, etc.
Of course you are still welcome to participate here. But typing in ALL CAPS is generally poor form on a blog format such as ours. Cheers, Tyler
Reply to post by Tyler:– O.K., However, having relatives in Ojai, I think that failing to inform the Ojai community about this kind of deadly abuse by the Forest Service would be remiss in the civic duty of me or anyone else as this is obviously the CRITICAL information needed for the community to make plans and smart decisions–Ed Nemechek.-P.S. We MUST stop the fires and the Supertanker can do it if USED.
This afternoon, I saw three City of Redlands fire engines coming down from the fire area, all dirty, muddy and smokey. They had obviously been relieved for a while.
At the same moment, three other engines, all shiny, polished and clean, from an unknown jurisdiction, were racing up the hill, sirens blaring.
For some reason, I wept.
Great meeting! A vast improvement over the Day meetings – I think they heard our complaints. Some high points to me that I thought I’d pass along to the folks that didn’t attend were:
1. The DC-10 is flying on Federal property and CDF is picking up the bill. In fact the Live Oak commander said it is flying on the Matilija now.
2. Folks with large animals – the Fair Grounds aren’t available until next Monday. They requested you call Animal Control and tell them how many animals you have, and they will tell you where to take them. They are using private resources while waiting for the Fair Grounds – there is a big horse show there this week.
3. Folks in Matilija the Forest Service has heard your cries. The commander/chief (whatever, the top guy – I think his name was Bridgewater) wants you to contact him. The Feds will let you clear the 200 ft around your homes so you can get protected and get insured. I’m not saying this will be easy – you have to coordinate with Ventura Fire and it’s probably going to be on your dime – but you can clear. Give him a call.
4. We’ve got the resources! There are 7 incident commands and 2 operations commands in the country – 3 incident and 1 operations are assigned to Zaca and have boots on the ground. Plus the Zaca is the #7 priority fire in the country (Montana and Utah have several fires that are beating us).
5. The contingency camp being set up in Ventura is scheduled to start showing up in Ojai this next week.
6. Inciweb (my opinion a lost cause) they are adding servers to handle the load, but are still being overwhelmed. We are directed to use the SB fire site (Tyler has the link on the resouces page)
7. Evacuation info – we are directed to go to the Red Cross Ventura site – another link Tyler has posted.
I know I’m going to sleep a little better than I did during the Day. There are no promises that Zaca will miss Ojai, but it looks like they are throwing everything State and Feds have at it – YEE HAA!!!!. Zaca is a monster or ‘the perfect storm’ as it is being called on some of the firefighter sites. From the pics they showed at the meeting – if we had a fleet of DC-10s they would look much like me with my garden hose in front of that 100 ft pine tree I mentioned in a previous post.
I think all the agencies are working together on this beast – now let’s keep our fingers crossed, pray there are no sundowners (our version of the Santa Anas) or flashovers, and for the 3K boots on the ground fighting for our protection.
Side note: The question from last night about when the Matilija last burned – I checked out the historic fire map posted. The last fire was the Wheeler 1985, sorry for the bad news.
Be safe everyone!
Tyler – A question for you.
How come you weren’t at the meeting promoting the OjaiPost site? During the Day you were there with banners flying, and that is how I discovered this site. This site became my touchstone for breaking fire news in Ojai since I worked miles from home, and the ‘official’ sites were always bogged down. What is happening now is a repeat of the Day – aka sites unavailable or not updated. If there is another meeting, please attend to spread the word. We desperately need a local resource we can count on in ‘emergency’ situations….and the OVN has consistently proven they aren’t the answer.
Thank you Ginny!
Hi Ginny -
Thanks for helping to spread the word. It is great to see the community step up and use the Post to deliver information. I’m unable (and rather unwilling) to do the sixteen hour days I did for five straight days during the Day Fire unless absolutely necessary, so perhaps I’m a bit hesitant to promote the Post as the definitive site.
However, I do believe we have the most comprehensive resource page, with links to every other site of interest. It would be nice if the City of Ojai and OVN recognized The Ojai Post as a legitimate news and information source and simply provided a link. But, as with the Day Fire, it doesn’t like they have any interest in doing so.
Anyway, point taken, thanks,
tyler
I just heard on the channel 7 news that Governor Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency for Ventura County. The Terminator is looking out for us!
reporting from the Casitas Chopper Base … activity has doubled again today, with 5 or 6 choppers now operating out of here including one green-camo military chopper.
the Ducks are pissed at all the loud-roaring, but the Herons are trying their best to ignore it …
Hi Tyler – I know it’s a huge commitment, but maybe a simple banner at these meeting would help. I know you have to have a life – like all of us, and I’m not asking you to put in huge hours – maybe we can do it for you. If you or someone or somehow post a banner at these meetings, then maybe the rest of us Ojai residents could pick up the banner and run with it. We could make this site the central hub for info on emergencies. I would never expect you to do it on your own – we as a community need to support the OjaiPost. You have provided us an invaluable forum, but we as citizens of Ojai need make this our emergency web site to get up-to-the-minute info from the residents. So don’t get me wrong, I praise you for starting this page, and am in debited to you for it – I left work early several times during the Day to drive over 100 miles so secure my property because of your site! BUT come on Ojai, the OjaiPost needs your support! Spread the word and make this site our Emergency Reporting site – the State and Local gov’t's have proven time and again they can’t! We need an emergency web site for Ojai! I’ll offer my support – let me know what I can do to help during the emergencies – you know my email, and I no longer drive over 200 miles a day to and from work! You can count me in!
FYI – This is a repost rom a firefighter website explaining the Inicweb problems….
This just came in from a “Forest Service Webster”, one of the good geeky people who keep the Forest Service (and other agency) websites up and running. It was posted to the websters by Jon Holden, who manages Inciweb. I have deleted portions of his post to the websters, but thought you might find the inciweb traffic portions of his comments interesting, and they explain why inciweb is and often has been slow. Kudos to Jon for the excellent work. R5 FS, wildland firefighters and the Public across the nation have been very lucky to benefit from his talent, knowledge and efforts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wow, I just realized I have not posted to this list in a very long time! I
am just now listening to the MP3 version of the conference call (great
info!) and it was a very odd feeling to hear my name mentioned and not be
able to contribute to the discussion. So, I thought I might clear up some
InciWeb questions and provide you a bit of an update.
There have been a number of rumors floating around lately about InciWeb and
I think I’ve identified the source of one of them (thank you, Larry ).
On Monday I came in and heard that I had resigned from InciWeb! I knew it
was a busy weekend but did not recall quitting. So, if there was ever a
time to drop a fitting Mark Twain quote, now would be the time! I am
indeed still very much involved in InciWeb. For better or worse, it has
consumed my life and follows me wherever I go. My level of involvement has
not changed one bit since InciWeb began. However, the team has grown and is
now three people strong. Teddi Lamoure is the project manager and Rose
Davis is the business lead. Both are located at NIFC and both are FS
employees. I am still the developer. Also, InciWeb is still an FS
application (not NIFC) and is managed by the FS (not NIFC).
With regards to the connectivity issues I can tell you that we continue to
be a victim of our own success. Last year I thought we were pretty hot
stuff once we reached 500,000 hits in a month. This season we’ve been
averaging about 1.5 million hits a day and have peaked at over 2 million.
Yesterday, after rebooting the database server the night before, I noticed
we had processed over 3.5 million queries in just 21 hours, and that’s with
a 20 minute cache on all queries. This level of traffic has become the
norm and the reason for much of the connectivity issues.
Many changes have taken place over the years to address the traffic issues.
We have moved through a variety of server solutions from a shared server
environment in 2003 to the cluster of 11 servers used today. With each
upgrade we are barely able to stay ahead of the traffic needs. We have
been planing a move to NITC for a couple of years. We were pretty close
last year, but in many ways it’s a good thing we did not move, as we would
have likely brought down a number of critical Internet based applications.
No one ever anticipated the levels of traffic we’ve received. The folks at
NIFC (the FS ones) are now working on making sure we have more than enough
capacity to handle the load. Unfortunately, we will not be able to move
anything in the middle of the fire season. So, for now I will continue to
jiggle the handle as needed to keep the traffic flowing.
(snip)
Thanks,
Jon
Another post to the fire fighter sites that shows how CA is hanging on to resources for the Zaca – hurricane Dean support (prayers go out to these folks also):
The problem here is that FEMA is standing up US&R teams and ISTs. Those folks are typically from Local Government agencies. Some of those folks are Fed and State IMT members and won’t be available. Some agencies are reaching drawdown as a result of this FEMA deployment and won’t allow other folks to participate in IMT deployments. I’m hearing that Ventura County and perhaps some smaller agencies won’t let folks out due to the Zaca. None of the CA Type 1 teams is available, nor the NorCal or South Central Sierra or Central Coast Type 2 teams. Who’s left?
Adding to Ginny’s 8:06 pm post about Inciweb from the same website…
————————–
I have noticed lately that our local TV stations, when they have a story about a Wildland Fire, they are showing InciWeb or refering to InciWeb for more information and some have put links to InciWeb on their online site for more information about fires.
With the amount of fires burning in the NW quarter of the US right now (OR, MT and ID) and the smaller communities being in danger or evacuated, I can see where the need for info would grow. It isn’t like the Zaca fire in California where there are alot of FF to post first hand info. There aren’t alot of knowledgeable scanner listeners who can post IA and updates like down south.
I’ve also noticed that with InciWeb having problems, there have been optional regional sites cropping up to help accommodate the need for information. Until InciWeb gets through the growing pains I think people will eventually find their way to their regional info or here but InciWeb is definitely the premium site for updated information, links, pictures, maps, meetings, evacs, etc. and it will be great when they get back up to capacity. The demand definitely states the need.
.
http://www.sbcfire.com/ has good information regarding the fire. Don’t forget the Ventura County Fire Department website http://fire.countyofventura.org/
thanks for the nice thoughts, Ginny. I am peripherally involved in some regional and county disaster preparedness discussions, which might yield some interesting solutions. Basically, the Ojai Post isn’t the best forum for aggregating a lot of time-sensitive official information and blending it with community involvement and reporting. It was never designed that way.
But to design it that way from the ground up would be a very powerful communications platform. So stay tuned.
SantaBarbara – yes, those are a couple good sites. We have those and dozens more to check out on our Zaca Fire Information and Resource page.
Thanks, all!
Hi again Tyler!
I love to hear there are plans afoot, but this is the best we have and the Zaca is on the horizon and creeping towards Ojai. As they say ‘The best laid plans…’. My offer still stands – in the near term while better solutions are worked. I know the citizens of Ojai and the unincorp’d areas will stand up to support this site as the hub of info with the approach of Zaca.
Please don’t squelch this grass-roots effort for the OjaiPost. Your monumental efforts during the Day are applauded one-thousand fold – by me if no one else. I just don’t think we (Ojai) can wait for a well-planned, well-designed solution with the Zaca on our horizon. What the heck – if nothing less look at the lessons learned that might be achieved (smile).
..and like I said, thank you one-thousand fold for all of your work during the Day!
Whatda U say Ojai – am I barking up the wrong tree here?
Ginny, why don’t you start up a site and OP can then link to you?
Ginny, I agree with you, that this information should be cosolidated as much as possible on the Ojai Post. It seems a better use of time and resources to continue linking to existing Fire/Flood/Earthquake Emergency sites rather than adding another site. That’s my 2 cent gut feeling. I like the community feeling of the Ojai Post.
