Water rate hike OK'd for farmers (VC Star)
The Casitas Municipal Water District board Wednesday voted unanimously to raise water rates for farmers by 53 percent, citing repair needs. More than 30 farmers packed the district boardroom to oppose the increase, saying it will help drive them out of business, thereby changing the rural, agricultural feel of the Ojai Valley. Wow! The New York Times for Carole and Tracey. I understood that they had moved to Portland. They are pictured in the article at Santa Fe. Does anyone know if they moved there?

I love Suzanne's. They have the best smoked chicken salad. But I didn't know they had a happy hour. Will have to check into that.

It's freaking hot, that's how we're doing. :)
I hope people take a few minutes to look in on their senior citizen friends today, and make sure they are doing OK.

i think the whole town of ojai should have misters. ahhhhh what a difference a little sprayed water makes.
any idea why the ozone is supposed to go into unhealthy for sensitive and the pm2.5 is up? I'm curious about how much that has to do with the heat? any environmentally studied folk know why ozone and heat go up together? that's a wacky ozone reading for later today.

we're going to Lake Casitas this weekend for camping - but right now we're sitting in our home in the a/c trying to get the nerve to journey out into the blistering heat. Water Park tomorrow for sure!! Everyone have a safe Labor Day weekend!
