Thanks, Tyler, for posting my pix. Absolutely spectacular ride down the Ojai Valley Bike Trail on Saturday 7/28. Before leaving Ojai I got a flat rear tire, which I fixed in the gas station parking lot at Montgomery and Highway 150. With my spare inner tube spent fixing the flat, the very friendly gas station convenience store cashier directed me to "Bicycles of Ojai," who, with friendly smiles and great service, sold me a new spare inner tube and inflated my tire with their floor pump to the 90 PSI that my hand pump can only dream of doing.

Now I know it's only about four blocks from the gas station to the bike store, but I actually got lost in between the two. A couple of friendly Latino guys gave me perfect directions, "siga a la izquierda en la esquina y despues a la derecha, cerca de la construccion siga a la derecha una otra vez,” or something close to that. In any event, with my very limited Spanish I understood "left and two rights." It worked. ¡Muchisimas gracias muchachos!

I love the Bike path, especially as you get closer to Ventura.
It takes on an almost surreal atmosphere as you pass through large deserted oil storage tanks and very heavy industrial relics that give a deep sense of the past.
There are also these strange metal sculptures with profound sayings.
I think it's only a matter of time before someone does a pictorial book of the bike path.

Also the repaving of the path has been a great boon as I used to get a flat about 50% of the time.

Dear Bike Trial Users:

Please post pictures just West of San Antonio creek, bike trial, where the river bank has breached.

The breach is IN FRONT of the dike. It will be washed out, Watershed District said.

Post some pictures?

I believe the bike path needs a double yellow line. One lane for the cyclist (which are annoying and rude) and the other lane for runners, people with strollers. Last weekend my daughter was almost run down by a cyclist and he/she never looked back.

The Bike Trail (make it bigger and more extensive though but at least we have one)

The cement inground skateboard park (still needs to be built!!!!!)

I love the bike path and would love to see it somehow extended to Meiners Oaks.

I think somehow Libbey Park and Bowl, the Fountain and Tower, Pergola and Arcade complex have to be taken into account in any rendering of Seven Wonders of Ojai. Rose Valley seems out of Ojai's range. Hey, wouldn't that be a great vistor attractor: have you seen the 7 Wonders of Ojai? Ojai herself is one of the seven wonders of the modern world. What are the other six?

I'm not sure what Carroll is talking about.
Is he talking about the riverbank reinforcement project taking place near the confluence of San Antonio Creek and the Ventura River? I was under the impression that the Ventura County Watershed Protection District was one of the agencies involved in this project.

1. I wonder when the blight of a gas station at Ventura St. is going to get fixed.
2. I wonder why the arcade block is not a plaza.
3. I wonder what happened to the round-about idea for the Y.
4. I wonder why people go to beautiful places and then trash them.
5. I wonder what anyone was thinking when a car dealership was allowed at the entry to the town.
6.I wonder if the new owners will fix the theater's tilt to the left.
7. I wonder how much those silly cross walks cost.

...Oh yes, and I wonder why my street is named Drown.
