It Is Time For Impeachment
Bush, Cheney, Gonzales. Impeach 'em all. Fully 71% of Americans now understand that this administration is an unmitigated disaster. Still support Bush? You are 1 in 4, and chances are darn good your cable TV is stuck on Fox News.
Why do I support impeachment?
# Falsifying evidence of weapons of mass destruction to justify an unlawful war of aggression.
# Directing the exposure of a covert CIA agent in time of war.
# Using presidential signing statements to circumvent laws passed by Congress.
# Illegal wiretapping and surveillance conducted against American citizens.
# Extraordinary rendition and torture of detainees in violation of the Geneva Conventions.
# Illegal suspension of the right of habeas corpus.
# Destruction of executive branch records whose preservation is required by law.
# Unlawfully terminating U.S. attorneys for political purposes.
# Employing executive privilege for the purpose of obstructing justice.
# Suborning perjury by administration officials.
# Dereliction of duty and failure to faithfully execute the office of President and to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.
(hat tip KingOneEye)
The abuse of power and expansion of the "unitary executive" is treasonous and unpatriotic. Lying, torture, spying, rendition, war, war profiteering and war crimes have destroyed our reputation abroad. My concern for the future of this nation is not confined to the party in power. I would no more want President Clinton or President Obama to have the kind of power that is being accumulated by the Bush-Cheney cabal. So impeach them, and let us begin to heal the gaping wounds of the last six years.

Whats wrong with protecting America? Whats wrong with protecting our economy? Should Bush/Cheney just sat there while are country is being targeted? I need a answer.
By the way, this post that you constructed is very UNPATRIOTIC!

Thanks for posting this Tyler. Hopefully this whole mess will inform America's immune system and lead to transparent governence. Our governmental system was designed before we even had the telegraph. Thus, our representative government no longer has viability or relevence. Time to govern ourselves. Violence begets violence. America needs liberation from crime families and the Bush dynasty can easily be prosecuted under the Rico Act.

The conservative Andrew Sullivan points out that Constitution calls for a simple majority to impeach in the House, and a two-thirds majority to convict in the Senate. Given that a majority of Americans believe we were misled into the war in Iraq, which is about as serious an abuse of power as there is, the numbers tell us that this administration deserves impeachment.
I'm not sure it's the best route for the Democrats to go, tactically. But the poll Tyler mentions is astounding, and worth looking at. http://www.americanresearchgroup.com/economy/
Do you know how many Democrats approve of the way Bush is handling his job?

Claire - when did I say that "something is wrong with protecting America"? when did i say that "something is wrong with protecting our economy"?
Why do you give Bush and Cheney a blank check and the moral authority to do what they do?
Answer me this, do you support torture? How is that patriotic?
Do you support war against people that had NOTHING to do with 9/11? How is that patriotic?
Do you support checks and balances in the government, or do you support dictatorship? How is that patriotic?

good on ya, Tyler, for jumpstarting the dialog!
as to the eleven bullet items, reasons for impeachment, that you listed -- the first ten items were his (legal, constitutionally-mandated) job -- and the eleventh, again that is just what he was doing, executing his office, and the purposes announciated by the US Constitution -- which by the way, hasn't gone anywhere.
the US Constitution is still 'there' -- read it, and know why we are serfs and lab-organ-mucus grease for the machine of the Corporate Security State -- because that is the legal agreement we have, which we support in every dialog, interaction and forum.
regarding impeachment -- yep, put all the six-hundred-plus mis-representative DC gangsters on the block -- hang up the whole institution for a good shaking and airing, and dosing and washing --
and let EVERY public servant and employee come forward and answer as to the evils they have been responsible for, and how they supported the 911 market grab and ops and disinfo.
let's have every civil servant pointing fingers and telling the truth of how the military and media and whole of the government agencies have been totally imprisoned and managed by the Corporations pulling the strings of the Security State.
[you thought the banker-orchestrated collapse of the German economy, and their reaction vis-a-vis Nazism and the holocaust was the seminal event in world history? Think, 911-And-The-American Terror, again!!]
let's have a tax, school, media and court holiday from all of the government programs of propaganda, theft and control -- and uncover and explain ALL this BLACK GOVERNMENT of the last fifty/sixty years -- with intent to FORGIVE EVERYONE but get to the bottom OF EVERYTHING -- and discuss ethics and love and purpose for the first time in history --
and find it for ourselves,
all our local, continental, and global family ...
awakened!

Claire - the Republicans have no plan to stop terrorism either. In fact, it has been the enabler that has allowed them to funnel billions of dollars to the mega corporations such as Halliburton, Exxon, Shell, Blackwater, etc.
Don't you get it? They don't care one whit about YOU. All they (Republicans, and the Dems to a much lesser extent in my opinion) care about is consolidation of power and transfer of wealth to the richest 1%. Of which I highly doubt you are a member.
In fact, you are a victim of terrorism - you live in fear of terrorists and of Democrats. I'm very glad you read The Ojai Post in addition to just watching Fox

Claire Kennedy(?): Have you ever served in the Military?
Comment #12 Posted by: Dana and Alyeska | July 25, 2007 11:40 AM
Hi Claire - no I haven't served in the military.
And it nauseates me that our Commander-In-Chief hasn't either, nor has his VP, or former Secretary of Defense or Secretary of State, and yet they willingly send our "best and brightest" young men and women to die for a cause that they still haven't explained.
I, like 80%+ of Americans, supported the action in Afghanistan, where we went after Bin Laden, who I might remind you still has not been apprehended or killed.
But we had no good reason to go into Iraq, and the toll this is taking on American soldiers and their families, not to mention the Iraqis, is inexcusable and is a war crime.
My position, Claire, is that attempting to end this war and bring the soldiers home IS supporting the troops. And I also believe that will make our nation more secure, where for instance, we don't have National Guard troopsmen and women on fourth and fifth tours of duty in Iraq.
Comment #13 Posted by: Tyler | July 25, 2007 11:42 AM
Impeach them all and then start criminal proceedings.
So much suffering these people have caused. And for what? A lie.
Miss Claire, you sound woefully under informed. Perhaps the test of a true patriot is never settling for anything less than the TRUTH about your government. The truth is that we were lied to. All for oil company profits. Do just the least amount of informing yourself and open your mind. You have been duped by these greedy bastards.
Comment #14 Posted by: Anonymous | July 25, 2007 12:51 PM
Even if the House of Representatives was ever to vote for Impeachment, you would never get the two thirds vote required in the Senate to convict. But after the next election, we would presumably be able to impeach and convict, but then he(bush) would be out of office. Though you can still impeach bush after he leaves office and convict him in the Senate, it would not happen, for the country will be to be busy repairing all the damage this a@@hole did.
For me, it would be great, even after he left office, to Impeach & Convict him, take away his pension and secret service protection, prevent him from ever holding any office, elected or appointed, completing the disgrace of his legacy.

if Claire's America is one in which it is PATRIOTIC to lie, cheat, steal, and kill (wherefore art thou, Ten Commandments?), then i will quickly and gladly shed all vestiges of patriotism and nationalism that i may possess, and forfeit my American Citizenship in favor of allegiance to the Planet and all my human brothers and sisters.
i would like to live in an America where we value TRUTH and JUSTICE and PEACE (aren't some of these words in our founding documents and all over our building and statues?) i'd like to be able to be a proud world Citizen proudly living in America.
such as it is, we MUST impeach Bush and Cheney regardless of concerns over timing and tact and expense BECAUSE THE CONSTITUTION ALLOWS AND DEMANDS IT. our sense of morality demands it. our sense of ethics demands that we hold these "elected" representatives accountable - even if the mechanisms of accountability take longer to engage than the terms of office which activated them.
it is important that it's NOT a partisan issue: "I would no more want President Clinton or President Obama to have [this] kind of power"
it's about the America we THINK we are, the one we're constantly TOLD we are, actually being our REALITY. it's about determining our collective destiny and being active participants (Citizens) in creating it together.
here's a plan to stop terrorism: STOP CREATING TERRORISTS. (does this feel old and tired to anyone else? is Claire the last surviving member of some cave-dwelling cult?)
please do NOT hold up military "service" as some defining rite of passage that grants more free speech than anyone else. how come nobody ever asks if anyone's served in the Peace Corps? i'm with you, Tyler: nauseated.

Claire, it's clear that you're very proud of your husband and of our country. i'm saddened that you think truth and justice are anti-american and anti-democracy, because truth and justice are all i see being called for here. is that really the america you love, the one that your husband has fought - and perhaps killed - for?
it's also clear to me from the language you're using that you're coming from a place of emotion - likely fear, although you may not admit it (few of us do). so i'm not surprised that all the logic that's right before you is not meaningful to you. you just want to feel safe, just like everybody else. but we're not, are we? if we were, we could have a rational discussion about morals and ethics and law, without getting tangled up in emotion-driven name-calling.
here's something for thought: nobody that i've loved has ever attacked me...works between two people, works between millions. spread the love, reap the security.

Hi Claire - I'm not sure what you see the "good fight" is. Are you aware that there was no connection between Iraq and 9/11? Why are we there?
Are you aware that acts of terrorism are at an all-time high, and the Mideast region has never been more unstable because of our unprovoked war in Iraq?
Are you aware of an ever increasing list of Republicans who realize what a catastrophe this war and this administration is, and are also calling for investigation and impeachment?
It's OK to question your leaders and not blindly assume they are doing the right thing or "fighting the good fight". You don't have to love your country AND your president. In fact, it is patriotic to question our leadership and hold them accountable for their actions.
Are the GOP meetings in our community simply pro-Bush, or are people actually expressing concern about how this nation is being led?
Comment #21 Posted by: Tyler | July 25, 2007 04:10 PM
All of the above
Comment #22 Posted by: Claire Kennedy | July 25, 2007 04:26 PM
I am curious as to what Claire thinks that "patriotism" really means. Never questioning your leadership or government? (especially if they are republicans).
My definition of patriotism includes an active participation in the process, i.e., holding our elected officials accountable for their actions and not blindly trusting their authority.
Our representatives are just that, representatives of the citizens and are given their jobs by the will of the people. If that trust is broken, it is our obligation as citizens to hold them accountable.
Our trust was broken when Bush/Cheney invaded a country that did not harm us. THERE HAS BEEN NO LINK EVER SHOWN BETWEEN Al Queda and Iraq.
YOu have been duped Claire. Wake up and smell the burning bodies of the innocent.

OK, so if you aware of all of the above, then we might simply have to agree to disagree.
And that is one of the things that makes America great - the fact that we can express our opinions, and support or not support politicians, and individually do what we think is right. Thanks for readin'!

The party of morals and ethics is the Grand Ole Party (GOP).
1. Peace
2. Prosperity
3. Christian Values
4. National/International Security
5. Respect Life
Comment #25 Posted by: Claire Kennedy | July 25, 2007 04:34 PM
Dear Claire - the Republicans ceded whatever bit of moral authority they projected a long time ago.
How do you reconcile Peace with the Iraq War?
How do you reconcile Prosperity with a shrinking middle class and increasing poverty?
How do you reconcile Christian Values with Mark Foley, Jeff Gannon, Rudy Giuliani, Henry Hyde, Rush Limbaugh, Jack Ryan, Don Sherwood, Jimmy Swaggart, and dozens of other Republicans who have had multiple sex scandals?
How do you reconcile National Security with the grossly underfunded efforts to secure ports, hand port security over to Dubai, secure nuclear facilities and secure the American food supply from China and other countries?
How do you reconcile International Security with the Iraq War which has escalated terrorism and made the Mideast a boiling cauldron of hatred?
How do you reconcile Respecting Life with the atrocities of war we have visited upon hundreds of thousands of Iraqis? Let me remind you Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.
There is blood on the hands of the people that you support, and they deserve to be frog-marched out of the White House and held up for war crimes against Iraq and multiple violations of the US Constitution.

It's true. Stop trying to explain your position with Claire. From a very young age, Conservative Christians are taught to give up the unexplained and unanswerable to faith. So... however good your argument may be, she is not going to budge on her belief system because its all backed up with "faith." And although it may lack logic, accountability and insight, this type of thinking will never fold in the face of TRUTH. Try as you might, you will not get anywhere, so don't waste your time. This is why the Republican Party is successful at capturing so many people, even though their agenda doesn't serve anyone but their own 1% elite club. They found a format to run their platform on and everyone is giving it up to faith. God help us.

Ok, look. For everyone who is too ignorant to actually see what is going on... Bush is planning these attacks that will soon happen in America. He wants to be a dictator, and will activate a police state in the nation, otherwise known as martial law. In order for this to happen, something extreme must happen in the US, an attack far greater then 9/11. There is so much secret stuff happening behind all of our backs, all building up to something terrible. Of course, an attack, or mass casualties from one, must happen while he is still in office, so he may activate his executive order, a new bill passed, (and televised this year) giving/making him the controller of all if any such thing actually did happen. Before the 2008 election, a horrible tragedy is supposed to be planned, and take place in the US in order to give bush Total Control. Be as skeptical as you'd like, you can contact me before the 2008 election to confirm and praise my knowledge, after these "al-qaeda" cells form and destruct the US. You heard the Homeland Security report, maybe 2 weeks ago...The director, chief of Homeland Security said he has a "gut feeling" something is going to happen. When have you ever heard of something so ridiculous? This is there scapegoat when they get to say "we told you something would happen." Bush sucks, and nothing good has come from him other then capturing Hussein and his cabinet. Jeb Bush "rigged" the votes in Florida getting his brother into office. It's all a big scheme unfolding before our eyes. I urge you all to think about this, research the facts and whatever else you can do to educate yourself about the near future. Hate to say I told you so in the coming year.

Comment #33 Posted by: Lem | July 25, 2007 07:02 PM
Dear Mr. Z, I'm afraid I have to agree with your overall analysis though it's my opinion Bush himself isn't running anything! And as fearful as your predictions are I don't believe they are too far fetched. Also, I find myself debating whether or not to make my comments anonymously...so far I'm hoping to continue to choose love, not fear. I for one am tired of judging others who disagree with me and being called a conspiracy theorist since long before 911 and on (and by the way including Wellstone's death before it happened as well as Dan Rather's set up and demise). So, more often then not I've found my own intuition/predictions based on what I've been told, what I've not been told, reading between the lines and thinking for myself, have been so sadly right. Still I pray a shift takes place that I believe is beginning to happen now and that I truly hope will change the outcome you speak of. There is no denying that the propaganda, the brainwashing, the pitting of us all against each other has truly worked and is thriving. People simply do not think for themselves anymore. And they give all their energy to what they don't want instead of towards what they do want to create. Resist and watch it persist! And the politicians in D.C. on both sides are more blinded by what they do and where and how they do it then any of us can possibly imagine unless we worked on capital hill ourselves or were born and raised in D.C. and the political environment. Not to mention, the anthrax letters our representatives were threatened with- now's there was a coup that really worked! If not for that we would not have had made so many of the mistakes we've supported since. From the moment we as citizens let Bush/Cheney steal the first election, our constitution was in serious jeapordy. Whether now or later it is critical we impeach both Bush and Cheney if we are to ever save what is left of our dignity and of course our very constitution. Sad but true, and painfully sader still - it may be too late. The only thing I know to do is to wake myself up to all of it in myself. The saying Peace starts with me - is true. It's an inside job and if we aren't willing to start with ourselves we will never accomplish it with each other much less on this planet. The good news: "many of us are more aware then we ever have been - this is said to erase discouragement- not to obliterate effort. The more conscious the striving the more rapid the growth." There is undisputable evidence that both Bush and dick Cheney lied to start a war with Iraq, which had nothing to do with 911. They started the war to steal Iraqi oil and U.S. tax dollars.
Hundreds of thousand innocent Iraqi men, women an children have died because of these two imperialist mad men in the White House. Hundreds of billions of dollars have been wasted and have gone missing, thanks to dick Cheney's no bid fraudulent contracts with his company Halliburton.
That means Bush and dick Cheney are the biggest thiefs, criminals and terrorists in the world.
Now they are saying terrorists are about to attack the U.S. I guess that negates the ridiculous "fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here" BS.
Ever wonder why these so called Muslim terrorists want to attack us in the first place? Not because they hate our freedom, but because they hate our imperialist, genocidal, U.S. state sponsored terrorism in their countries.
People like Claire who never question the President are actually a danger to the U.S., especially when it is obvious that this president and his VP are the worst in history, are a threat to the American way of life and are a threat to the U.S. Constituton.
When people like Claire claim to be true Americans and then question our patriotism for opposing the worst administration in history, then we can come to only one conclusion, she is certifiably insane.

Here is further proof that Bush and dick Cheney are the worst administration in history, are a danger to the American way of life and are a threat to the U.S. Constitution:
'On July 17th President Bush signed another executive order. It should have made the front page and been the lead story on every newscast, but wasn't. In fact, unless you read the so-called “alternative” press, you probably still don't know a thing about it. Yet it could land your ass in jail and/or get your financial assets frozen or seized.'

Thank you Tyler, for bringing up this issue and listing just a few of the good reasons why Impeachment is not only justified, but required to restore our Constitution. It’s important that America regain the faith of the American people, and most especially the youth, who may now believe it's ok to lie and steal and ignore American's Constitutional rights.
I cannot understand why the Democratic Party has not taken action to stop this cabal from continuing the rape and pillage of American assets or stopped the war. It breaks my heart every day to hear of another American killed while these people stand and make their sanctimonious speeches on the floors of Congress and prepare for their month long, well paid vacations. Who knows what the Bush Administration will do during the month of August.
Most people are saying the Dems are afraid to impeach because they believe the American people will be against it, hold it against them in the 2008 elections, and they will not be able to get the sixty votes in the Senate they need to convict. Have the politicians forgotten how MoveON.org got its start? Over seventy percent of the American people (Democrats and Republicans alike) were polled day after day and were against the Impeachment of Bill Clinton. MoveOn was started to send messages to Congress that American’s did not want the President impeached. Republicans did it anyway, did not convict, and still won the election.
Comment #42 Posted by: Coleen Ashly | July 26, 2007 01:41 AM
First, let me say that I have seen some exceptionally well reasoned and composed comments here, as well as some that display an alarming lack of understanding and compassion.
My own viewpoint is that the U.S. government IS representative of the will of the majority of the people and that our democracy is working as designed. Unfortunately, the citizenry has become overwhelmingly corrupted by an unquenchable thirst for personal gain. The "American Dream" has degenerated into the "American Nightmare".
The fourth and fifth branches of our government are the population and the press. Have you ever used a five legged chair on an uneven floor? Milking stools have three legs for good reasons. The current imbalance in world society today is due to a lack of recognition of duty and responsibility that is far more deeply seated than the misguided will of a handful of megalomaniacs.
On 9/11, I recognized the destruction of the WTC as an attack against the exploitive history of capitalism and approximately 300 countries with the political and economic infrastructure that promotes this particular brand of abuse of humanity and the world. It was not an attack exclusively on the US. If that had been the case, different targets would have been more appropriate. The attacks of that day have the earmarks of an act of passion by a desperate minority of people who have experienced intense exploitation. Terrorism has many faces, and unfortunately, some of them are ours. Admitting culpability is a fundamental part of negotiating a lasting peace regardless of the scale of the conflict. We have seen the enemy and he is us, and not just the U.S.A. I'm speaking globally. It is time for the people of the world to calmly sit down, solve the REAL PROBLEMS about how to make sure everyone can comfortably co-exist without further destruction of the planet, and get on with LIVING instead of KILLING.
One more thing. I don't have many answers, but I think I'm pretty good at identifying the most crucial questions. Coming up with the answers will take a LOT of hard work and dedication.
I think it is time to do more than lay blame at the feet of a few individuals who have committed abhorrent acts. Impeachment may be a good first step in the process of healing some deep wounds, but it should be followed my many more.
I defy anyone to find a bias towards or against any particular party in what I've just said, although some are likely to rant about "that damn communist".
That's just my two cents worth. Take it or leave it. I don't expect to collect any interest.
P.S.
I sincerely hope Clare and Victoria continue to read these comments and derive some benefit from very carefully considering what they find here.
P.P.S.
Thanks, Tyler. This forum rocks.

It seems to me that this is a numbers game. The stolen White House people (SWHP) represent an extremely low percentage of Americans. Because violence begets violence our modus operandi must be diplomacy. Impeachement is the first obvious diplomatic front. SWHP has seen this coming and of course will be able to stonewall impeachment proceedings for the next decade. Thus, that diplomaitc front is a gerbil wheel. Than how do we peacefully regain control of our country from the drunken cowboys?
This is a numbers game. We have an enormous resource of millions and millions of citizens. I believe we must penetrate the veil of insulation which our pseudo leaders have wrapped themselves up in since day 1. Trying to raise the intelligence of the Clares of the world can be seen more gerbil wheels, just as trying to get the demos to suddenly change their obvious alliegence to the corporate structure is another waste of energy, in my opinion.
I have no solutions but would like to see a more effective, efficient use of the power we wield. Isn't it obvious by now that the donkey elephant show is merely a pro wrestling event for intellectuals ?
Who actually welds the power to make the changes that most of us know will improve the world? The corporations are pulling the strings and hide behind the tired old rhetoric of the carefully made up faces of puppet politicians.
Thus, how do we start diplomatic conversations about the future and direction of human society with the zoo keepers? My feeling is that they actually have hearts and feelings and need guidance on how to gain access to them.

I don't feel we have the right as a nation to impede on other nation's wars and politics. So think about this...When was the last time you heard of any country, on it's own "free-will" deciding to take control of another's just cause they don't like how it's being run. Now I understand Iraq was a pretty F'ed up place, and still is. But you don't see Canada, or any other country that's not in Europe trying to change the way a country works. I believe it is unruly for any controller of any country to just decide they want to invade, conquer, and rebuild. Why do so many countries disapprove of the US? Why do they dislike Americans? Well, for anyone hating the U.S., and it's citizens, look at the real culprit. GWB. He's the one who gives everyone the overall impression of the US, and how the people feel about certain things. He can't speak for all of us when he says stuff like "Our nation believes in peace, commonwealth, and democracy." That in turn makes poeple from other countries dislike Americans when he pulls out his boomstick and slams it on any country that isn't working the way the US thinks it should. It would be like Russia flying thousands of jets and crusing battleships over here and saying, "Your country is run like shit, we are here to take over and fix it." I understand that we don't come close to how Hussein treated his people and country, but come on. We cannot play God. We've spent what...700+ B I L L I O N dollars in a country the size of Texas, and look where it has gotten us.Our debt is through the roof. Can you even begin to imagine what this country could have done with that kind of money? Oh my God! We could've made a better health care plan, we could have cleaned up rotten neighborhoods, built thousands of more schools, created thousands of more jobs, Fed every starving family and/or person in this world 100 fold, the list can go on forever. All the Bush administration cares about is money and so called "terrorists" that could be anywhere at anytime. So we might as well just lock everyone down and slap a barcode on them to keep track of their every move, so we need to borrow another $250 billion to get that goin' so let's raise taxes and the price of gas another buck or 2. Things I flush down the toilet look better then this administration ever has. Lies, propaganda, wire tapping, FBI internet monitoring of EVERYTHING. I feel like moving. All of my freedoms are nearly gone, and Canada is lookin' pretty good right about now, eh? I agree with Mr. Z about the possible senarios shaping up for this country in the next year, and I could go off for another 5-100 pages about how I feel about this time in America's life, and where it could go from here. I really hope that everyone; All americans wake up, and realize what is taking place before their very eyes.

The government relies on ignorance as a front for all the sneaky stuff they are doin' behind our backs. They are nothing more then an annoyed parent jingling keys in our faces to keep us occupied and distracted. Oh wait, Lindsay Lohan is on every news network right now, it must be important. Gotta go!

The Democrats in the House need to do their job and impeach Cheney and Bush. The Senate needs to follow suit and convict both of them with a simple majority. Then we can start talking extradition to the World Court at The Hague on war crimes proceedings. It is not a matter of us against them or any kind of a fight, it is for the health of this country. It is, in fact, the ONLY patriotic thing to do. The representatives in the House swore one oath. It was an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. That oath demands that our Representatives in the House impeach this administration for the myriad crimes they have committed specifically, but also to put a stop to the criminal overreach of the executive in general. I've been saying as much since March of '03. Back then it was totally unheard of and there were "patriots" waving flags from their SUV's all over the place; now the majority wants them impeached. We've come a long way. If you are reading this and you, like the majority of patriotic Americans, support impeachment--write/call your representative in the House and ask that they sign on as sponsors of Dennis Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment of Dick Cheney or House Resolution 333 currently stuck in the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties chaired by Rep. Jerrold Nadler. If you live in Gallegly or some other Republican without conscience's congressional district, write/call Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Chairman of the Judiciary Committee John Conyers and demand that they do their patriotic duty and refer the resolution to the full House for a vote. Further, demand that they write up Articles of Impeachment against Bush as well.
If you're tired of making pithy comments on blogs and arguing with paid Republican operatives on this and other blogs; if you what to do something to save this country and make the world a better more peacful place, then here's the phone numbers of the people in the House that can get impeachment voted on. Ask Nadler and Conyers to schedule Dennis Kucinich's H.R. 333 for a hearing and a vote to refer it to the full House of Representatives. Ask Nancy Pelosi to begin drawing up Articles of Impeachment against George W. Bush and ask her to refer H.R. 333 to the full House for a vote. Tell her if she doesn't do it, you are considering moving to her district for the '08 election so you can vote for Cindy Sheehan. Here's the numbers:
Jerrold Nadler: 202-225-5635 DC, 212-367-7350 Manhattan, 718-373-3198 Brooklyn
John Conyers: 202-225-5126 DC, 734-675-4084 Trenton, MI, 313-961-5670 Detroit
Nancy Pelosi: 202-225-4965 DC, 415-556-4862 San Francisco, CA
To lighten the mood a bit, I'll leave you with this: My favorite bumper-sticker on this subject reads: "Will somebody please give Bush a blowjob so we can impeach his ass."

Does art imitate life or life, art?
General Buck Turgidson, frothing ala Claire Kennedy and the other Republican trolls to drop nukes, was sure casualties would be manageable: ""10 million, 20 million tops."
Prominent neocon, "scholar" at the American Enterprise Institute, and close Cheney advisor Joshua Muravchik recently wrote (LA Times 11/19/06):
"WE MUST BOMB Iran... If we hit a large fraction of [Iran's approx. 1500 known nuclear facilities] in a bombing campaign that might last a few days to a couple of weeks, we would inflict severe damage... wouldn't such a U.S. air attack on Iran inflame global anti-Americanism? Wouldn't Iran retaliate in Iraq or by terrorism? Yes, probably. That is the price we would pay."
What would such an attack look like? The Union of Concerned Scientists ran a simulation based on the neocon plans, which include using their so-called "tactical" bunker buster nukes, and reported (http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=OF%2020060418&articleId=2281):
"If it were to be launched against Iran, it would result in radioactive contamination over a large part of the Middle East - Central Asian region, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths, including US troops stationed in Iraq...
The UK Guardian reported in the last few days that Cheney has decided that we must bomb Iran before Bush leaves office, as he does not have confidence that a succeeding administration will do it. The Guardian article reported that Condoleeza Rice has been against the idea, but her camp is now losing out to Cheney (sorry, don't have the link).
General Buck Turgidson is alive and well and running the White House.
Impeachment is a necessity.
For those who are confused about patriotism and its meaning: Who are the patriots, those who oppose murderous tyrants or those who apologize for them? For an extreme example, consider the case of von Stauffenberg, the German Nazi general who determined his duty as a patriot was, given the opportunity, to attempt to assassinate Hitler and his high command. He failed, and Hitler called him treasonous and had him killed. Today, we all know von Stauffenberg as the hero, the true patriot who finally yielded to the true demands of conscience and country, at the cost of his life.
Hmm, why is Tom Cruise making a blockbuster movie about von Stauffenberg right now? Does he think it may give Condie Rice some ideas?
"Claire Kennedy" and the Republican trolls are on the wrong side of history. It's a shame what has happened to the once proud Republican Party.

They know her full name however, and revile her on at least one other occasion:

Use "claire" as your search term, or just scroll through the posts; you'll find her.

Thanks phalarope for the enlightening link to a paid work from home Republican troll.
The Republican revolution certainly will be televised, and blogged, and lettered-to-the-editored(!).
(I wonder if the Bushies pay for this with tax dollars?)
Alright ClaireK, I have a few questions:
1. Do you Republican blog trolls get wage adjustments as the dollar plummets due to the incompetence and criminal policies of the people you apologize for? Or are you working to drive your own wage down, so to speak?
2. If you don't get the last word in on a blog thread, what happens? Do you lose a bonus? Do you get docked in pay? Or is it strictly an hourly deal, just google away for keywords like "impeachment" and then troll the blogs with the Rove talking points?

Please write to your congressman about impeachment. I did, just a couple days after H. Res. 333 was published. Some time later, I received a response in the mail. Here is the content of that response.
"I am in receipt if your communication regarding impeachment proceedings against Vice President Cheney.
All articles of impeachment would first have to go through the House Judiciary Committee. At this time, H.Res. 333, the Impeaching Richard B. Cheney, Vice President of the United Stated, for high crimes and misdemeanors resolution has been referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.
While I am not a member of this panel, you may be assured that I will keep your views in mind during any House consideration of this issue.
Thank you for contacting me. Please feel free to do so whenever there is a matter of interest or concern."
Whenever you contact your representative, you are casting an informal vote. Every vote contributes to the resolution of the particular issue that causes you to be concerned. The revolution will indeed be televised. Remember the countless hours of Watergate deliberations.

Impeachment can only start in the House of Representatives, within the Judiciary Committee. Anyone in the House can submit Article/Charges, to the Judiciary Committee for review. Or simply the J.C. can start by anyone of their own members Articles/Charges put forth. If the J.C. finds cause for/of Impeachment/Indictment, by majority vote, they move it onto the floor of the House. The House then investigate the articles/charges and votes. By a majority, Impeachment/indictment has occurred and is sent to the Senate where Trial on the Impeachment Article must proceed. To convict takes 2/3s two thirds vote of the whole of the Senate. Upon conviction, in that instant, the President is an ordinary citizen and the Vice President instantly becomes president.
To get that 2/3s in the senate is next to impossible in the current make up of the present senate.

it is true --
the Bankers, and the silly world who danced to their media, were the old power that orchestrated the Russian Revolution, the 911 Play, and the War Against Iraq and America.
the Jews may be the powerhouse within the Banking World ... but they are not the whole of it, nor their Christian army. [nor to blame.]
