Say, does anyone know anything about a leaf blower ban?

I'll answer my own question...
from the City's website
http://www.ci.ojai.ca.us/index.asp?Type=B_BASIC&SEC={04187CDF-7402-4E9D-8F03-42C324E653C3}

Leaf blowers may be operated from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. everyday, except legal holidays. While electric blowers are allowed in all zones, gas-powered blowers will only be allowed in non-residential zones after December 31, 1998. Other special provisions governing gas blowers include: (1) they may not be operated within 150 feet of residences, motels, schools and hospitals; and (2) they must be operated with their factory mufflers in good working order. Please also note that blowing cuttings or debris on streets or neighboring properties is prohibited.

let's see how quickly ojaipost can respond to an emergency.

i have some guests and we want to go to ojai pizza for dinner.

they are not answering their phone.

anyone know if they are open?

it's 6:38 pm

Ojai Pizza is almost assuredly open, they often don't answer their phone (805-646-7878).

If not, drive out to Boccali's on the East End, but remember its cash and check only. Try the eggplant parmigiana with marinara, the fresh tomato salad and the strawberry shortcake.

tyler- you have just erased any thoughts i have had about what a terrible job you are doing with the ojaipost

you were clearly on the fence if it was that easy. welcome to the cult, please swing by Rains for your track suit and Nikes.

hey thanks but i am already in the cult of won. we never have, never will be looking for any other members. i do need some new shoes though. what color are your nikes? pink?

that leaf-blower "ordinance" (or whatever it is) has got to be in the top ten Most Often Ignored Local Rules. it's ALSO highly unenforceable, so i fear there's little to do about it unless we all decide to be speed-dialing snitches. and whom do we call...the police? for a leaf blower?
i'm frustrated because these things get used within 2 feet of my apartment all the time...
