Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes...

It's official! Iris Williams and Kirk Lowry, Ojai artists and proprieters of Suite 1 Inn, have purchased Ojai Creates! from John Azevedo, an Ojai landmark himself. John has served the community for over six years with his infectious laugh and low prices. The store will continue with the same merchandise and pricing in a new location. Ojai Creates! will be closed for the month of July, so stock up now on printer cartridges, CDs and art supplies.

And watch to Post for notes from John and Iris!

I met Iris over at Ojai Creates! today. John was in good spirits, is keeping his home and plans to travel and explore his muse. He asked me if I knew of any chiropractors or other such healers that would want to rent his place (the current location of Ojai Creates!) as an office. He just needs access to it at night since he lives there in the back.

The new location will be where Cardinelli's Music is and Don and Patricia will be moving their store to Meiners Okas.

Congrats to John, a great guy who has contributed tremendously to this community. Its wonderful to hear he is exploring his muse after providing the resources for countless others to follow their own muses for so many years.

The current Cardinali's will be a good location for Ojai Creates, and its also wonderful to hear Meiners Oaks is receiving a quality, locally-owned well-established business.

Thanks for the reports, Heather and Raymond. Cheers!

a bright smile on my face every time i see John, whether in Ojai Creates! or around town. thank you for your self, and for your store, which proves to me that small non-corporate stores with heart and energy can THRIVE!

thank you Iris and Kirk for keeping it alive as John explores, and for vowing to keep it the same. i look forward to meeting you next time i'm in for posterboard and markers for my next vigil, protest, or peace action!
