Subway Corporate: Behind The Scenes

From the Sacramento Business Journal, Subway to flood area with 65 more shops:

Subway Restaurants, which dominates the local sandwich market, plans to stay on top by opening 65 new stores in the Sacramento area over the next five years. Duplicating a strategy that works for Starbucks, Subway plans to flood the region with stores. The company is negotiating leases for 10 new stores in Sacramento and is eyeing more locations.

"Our business model is to be everywhere," said Shawn Hazeghazam, director of real estate for Cal-Neva [Subway]. "There are a lot more opportunities in this area."

From vegsource.com, Subway Versus the Vegan Café:

If the Subway Corporation has its way, its questionable business tactics may just succeed in destroying the lifelong dream of two brothers who pooled their life savings - and those of their families - to create a delicious haven for vegans in the Detroit/Grosse Pointe area.

The good news is that those of us in the vegan and vegetarian community may be able to help prevent that from happening.

Subway is a "chain" saw massacre. I know some people disagree, but since this is still a relatively free country, I can say what I think. People who support Subway have a relatively low, uninformed consciousness. They are eating money and it's going to catch up with them, and eventually poison their bodies and consciousness. What gets me are those who eat at Subway elsewhere but not in Ojai. That to me is hypocrisy; sorry, but even with my friends I have to stand by that. Subway is one of those symbolic lynch pins that hold the whole corrupt moneyist system together. Subway eaters eat away at any just system not based on money idolatry, and that moneyist poison is going to eat away at them. We are what we eat, and if we eat moneyism, we're going to end up like the old patriarch, Midas; with a starving soul and yellow skin, in the midst of his stolen gold.
