Slow Day in Paradise
Having lots of fun taking photos here on the land where I live. I've limited myself to the property boundaries and as a self imposed assignment to soak in all of the beauty that permeates a small field of reference. This little guy was wandering across my driveway yesterday. Looks like s/he's smiling in celebration of Slow Food. Turtle soup anyone?.... aah just kidding.

Dude,
That's a great pic. You are a master. Who knew that turtles are translucent?

Raymond that's a really great photo! I've never seen a turtle in Ojai. Did you know about the Ojai Center for the Arts photo contest? You should submit something:

So when this little guy needs a shine on his/her shell, does he/she go to ace and buy a can of Human Wax?
There are lots of turtles out at Lake Casitas. You used to be able to catch them in the mornings sunning on those long wooden buoys. The Lake switched to the fatter plastic buoys, which are impossible for them to climb up on.There might be a couple wooden ones left, otherwise you might find them along the shore on some rocks, particularly along where the restaurant is going towards the park entrance, beyond the boat docks.
R.P's. pics are the best.

Beautiful! I love the reflection glistening in her eye. I've seen a few turtles around town, but always figured they were escapees. What a magnificent creature!

Years ago in Wisconsin I used to swim near snapping turtles. The name says it all. We had delicious turtle soup. With all the pesticides around, I wonder if they are still there. The destruction of the natural world is so sad but this highlights its beauty.
