I agree with spk. This issue is in part a ruse, to deflect from more important problems. Also it is used as a get out the core for support.

?Just how stupid do those in power think we are? When I listen to the president's supporters ignore the constitution, including every Democrat who voted for the Patriot Act, with all their scare tactics, I feel they are committing just as big a crime as 911.

911 was shocking in the nth degree, for it's unfolding, so massive, we collectively witnessed a moment, that took millions of us, years to grasp it's full effect.

Less conspicuous was the behind the scenes activity that was not forced to the table for scrutiny by the republican Senate and House of Representatives. Only now after an agonizing slow start by the democrats, are we seeing past and present dark deeds come to light.

The seemingly irreproachable participants, their drunkenness with power, manifested in the ranks of the republican party is under treatment. First by a massive intervention by the family of voters and doses of minority-ship, subpoenas, hearings and convictions and yet more intervention in 08.

This is not a 12 step program, you will not see them go though step 5 and 6. They'll never admit nor accept correction of their wrongs to humanity. That is why we have to be vigilant.

Just for the record, the death toll for 911,

Death toll in Iraq: 3,502 coalition dead and counting. Of that, 3,244 are American.
Wounded: 32,544 Americans.(I have not included all the Afghanistan casualties), All in a period of 1,470 days.?Remember World War II, where we fought in dozens of countries on several continents? This war in a country near the size of California has taken longer than World War II. ?Incompetents from the top down?
