SLAPP's, sun salutations and sexy soul
Anyone read Todd Miller's scathing editorial on the ballot initiatives and SLAPP suit in the OVN today? (originally printed as "And The Victim Is..." on The Ojai Post, March 9)
Elsewhere, a little Ojai Post administrative housekeeping - the list of Ojai Post authors is now on its own page and won't be listed in the right column of the site. We're just growing too darn big! Also, welcome to our two latest authors: Suza Francina, author, yoga instructor and former mayor of Ojai, and Kira Ryder, owner of Lulu Bandha's Yoga.
And if you are up for it, head on out to SOHO in Santa Barbara this evening for a night of music featuring The Jane Doe's, sexy, sultry blue-eyed soul. They're good friends of mine, but don't hold it against them.

Well done Todd.
Also, lets give some credit to the OVN for putting Todd's editorial out, finally.
Thanks Bret.

Oh yes, welcome Suza and Kira.
Like Evan, I look forward to hearing from both of you.
Suza, my brother would always tell me of what you were doing in the city council-for I lived out of town-he saw you as a positive force for Ojai.
Thanks for your time/participation back then.

"It is important to have a common understanding of what is meant by “code enforcement.”
Although it can have a broader meaning, in this report it will describe enforcement of those
parts of the Municipal Code dealing with the use of private property. That is to say, the report
will not deal with regulations of public property (typically handled by Public Works staff),
with criminal or personal conduct (handled by the Police Department), or with development
activity (handled by the Planning Division, or by the administration of the Building Code by
the Building Official). In most cases, the code regulations discussed here relate to activities
on residential and commercial (private) property."
This is a quote from Kersnar's latest report on Code Enforcement. Is this guy a relative of George W. Bush?
Code violations have everything to do with development, that's what the building code does, Jere. You are, by far, the worst report writer in the history of Ojai. Code enforcement means BUILDING CODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How can someone like this be entrusted to manage a city????????????

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome to the Ojai Post. I have been mostly a recluse writer these past few years and I'm happy to announce that my fourth book was released this month plus it was March, 50 years ago, that my family and I immigrated from Holland and landed in the middle of an orange orchard on Thacher Road... I can feel spring running through my veins! Namaste, Suza
