Dolphins

At the very bottom of a recent thread, I found a video of dolphin slaughter in Japan. Like most Californians, I'm pretty fond of our oceanic neighbors. Unlike lots of people, I've had the opportunity to swim with dolphins in the wild - I was in a little boat and a pod of them showed up to play. These creatures are magical! I don't recommend watching the video - it is brutal. But, you can read a little more here

And if you'd like to do something about it that will take less than 2 minutes of your time, go here, click on "Help Save the Dolphins NOW" and then click on "Take Action Now" under Ted Danson's face. Fill in your name and email address and be on your way. That simple. This is the kind of action that has slowed whaling and killing baby seals for fur. You can make a difference.

I watched that horrific video, I don't recommend it. It was absolutely sadistic. I filled out the email protest letter. But in my name tag, I added 'no more Japanese products in my home', I want them to see that. Where I can, I won't be buying any more Japanese products until this stops.

I'm so revolted by this.

it is sadness beyond measure.

the butchery of these tens of thousands of dolphins and whales.

feeling wholly powerless, totally impotent, unable seemingly to do anything about a world gone mad, despite all the email sent out on the web.

to post the video address here ... would seemingly only bring shouts of outrage from our townspeople ... outrage at the posting, not at the unimaginable slaughter of these our most beloved sister/brothers.

this world has no meaning any more.

i haven't watched the video (and don't plan to), but i can feel your sadness, Millennium. i thank you for sharing it (because it is very alive), but am saddened at your frustration and mourning. we'll find meaning again, brother.
